Questions & Answers

Is the amp equipped with a fan internal to it? Are there fans in the room, and if so, how loud are they?

In short, yes. Although some people have complained that it is a bit noisy, I have never found it to be distracting or troublesome. I am satisfied with the amp's performance.

If I use this with my optona tx rz 920, I can power my surround back speakers. Do you have any thoughts on this? If you get 7, I'll be elated. ?

My Marantz SR7010 used in a nine-inch surround set up is plugged into this amp for powering my rear surround speakers. It is arranged in 2 configurations. For this setup, I am using Front Wide speakers. My amp is just fine. Since one of the customer reviews on the Monoprice website recommended adding a second cooling fan, I added one. All of the parts that the reviewer did, from the A to the T, I used. The number of fans is 815. Besides fabricating a second fan mounting bracket that attaches to the pre-existing one, I didn't make any changes to the original assembly Monoprice used zip ties to mount amps on the other side of the amplifier. We drilled mounting holes on the other side of the amplifier. There must have been two fans in mind when this amplifier was designed. It is the reason that I modified the stock fan because, although not really loud, I considered it to be a little too loud for use in a home theater. That is a decision you will have to make While running very cool, I believe it would have run just as well with the stock (Higher Speed) fan, albeit with a bit more noise. Check out the Monoprice review and make sure to read it. I am not at all sorry that I bought this amplifier. Reviewers had told me I would have problems with the fan's noise levels, so I was prepared for that. The volume isn't as loud as it seems. I hope that helps.

A confusing panel appears when I try to enter a value. It looks like there are 2 channels, each with 1/4" TRS inputs. Do the inputs have a mono or stereo signal? What should the wiring of each trs input look like?

An input is BALANCED, which means that there are three wires going into the input for each side of stereo. If you use XLR connectors (mic cable), you will be able to connect up to three devices. TRS connections require that the cable you use be SHIELDED - if you're using TRS, be aware that the cable must be shielded Positive points point to the tip, negative points to the ring, and the shield points to the sleeve. There will be a hum if you use normal lamp cords. If the fan noise is a problem, like in my studio, I slow it down quite a bit by using resistors of 10 watts.

There is no issue with this
5/5

It is a flat The skinny on this whole thing is as follows. A 5 out of 5 star rating In a studio environment, rack mounting is taking place. As far as powering 18 inch subwoofers and such nonsense goes, I'm in the dark. I cannot use the fan in my studio because it is too loud. The solution is All the screws on the top panel need to be removed, the fan needs to be disconnected, and the top panel can be left Although the heat sinks never get cooler than warm, it can be cranked up at high volumes for hours at a time. It is therefore a bargain for $96 to get a SILENT studio amp. This is amazing! It is replacing a Hafler DH200 in which a channel die was used. Having haflers in the house is like being in cat heaven. There is simply nothing wrong with this thing. It reacts fluently, a great power output, and is just right for the job Field monitors are used in the field. It's true that your warranty has likely lapsed, but nonetheless That's really a great idea. You don't have to worry. As a result of its poor design, the fan did little to 'cool' the device, merely providing an inefficient airflow As a result of taking off the lid, there is more airflow than when the fan was on. You should just take care not to spill alcohol on the amp, or not to let young children stick their fingers into it Thanks! It works like a charm!.

A power amp with a lot of clean power and at a good price
4/5

In a nutshell, As part of a home theater setup using all divisions, the amplifier was configured as a bridged amplifier driving the center channel speaker. Especially at this price point, the monoprice provides quite a bit of power and is reasonably clean with no annoying hiss or audio noise. It is easy to use, I like the layout, it offers many features, and it has quite a bit of power. Next we will look at the (only) negative. It is true. You can just about hear it. There is no mistake to be made. There is no doubt that this amplifier is very loud, louder than any of my other crown amps (exception if electronics are in an enclosed rack or closet). It sounds like a small hair dryer at low speed, so it is far louder than a decent dedicated home theater room. have been involved with home theater for some time and spend a lot of time tuning, treating, etc, my room, and just generally, enjoy my hobby. Those things are the things they are. An amp with an extremely loud fan that's solid for its price range. This type of headset may be best suited to live / PA use, or noisy environments in general, but must be avoided in situations where the equipment is exposed to the environment. Looking into the fan mod is on my to-do list. Hopefully, you will be able to see the video. Switching on a Crown amp (quiet), then switching on It gives you a sense of the magnitude of the problem.

It has a bedroom, apartment, and a kitchen
3/5

That's fine with me The amp can be used live with other instruments. It's not going to happen. This may not be a real power amp, which I had hoped for. No need to worry about them telling you that, 100 Watts X 2 @ 8 Ohms, or 200 Watts total on both sides, you're screwed. This is far from the truth. Quite astonishing if this thing is capable of putting out 15 watts X 2 at 8 Ohms. The only reason I gave it three stars is because it does produce the sounds it says it will, it just doesn't deliver them in the quality advertised. The fact that it's teamed up with top-flight artists may make it sound great Here's the thing It is fed by processors on the line. If it's in a rack like this, I'd expect it to sound good. Currently, I use a 50/50 mix of My 50-watt amps last all day long and I know what 50 watts sounds like. A Watt tube amplifier can crush this thing to bits. For the price, if you want to use this with a bedroom setting, or just in a small apartment, you can have fun with it all day long, and nobody We recommend not going beyond that, as you will be I'll hesitate to use this unless you tell me it's 100-plus The amp is rated at 100 Watts at 8 Ohms, and I expect it to deliver that. I gave it just 3 stars for the same reason. Let me just qualification myself and these remarks. It has been my job to build monster guitar rack rigs (See picture 2) since the early '90s. In the second photo, you can see my current W/D/W recording system. In order to use this "Fly Rig" (Photo 1) for rehearsals and as a live amp at clubs and small venues, I needed to build it as a second, lightweight rack rig. This was the only reason I considered it as a power amp worthy of testing. The unit is 1U and it is In the event that it would have provided its advertised power rating, I would have been very pleased. It must be my fault if I pay this price. Whenever I find something new and exciting at an affordable price, I tend to check out new products and technology hoping to find something great that can do the job. If you're looking for power, don't believe the inflated numbers this thing lacks it. I don't need this amp since I already have a rack monster to use at home, so I do not need a practice amp that is underpowered. The box and original packaging materials were saved, thanks be to God. There will be a quick sale of this.

A great value for the money
5/5

Designed to replace the Rocktron Velocity 300 in my guitar rack setup, it replaces the poweramp I previously had. A 2x12 8 ohm guitar cabinet cranked through my Eleven Rack in bridged mono mode is powered by it. I love it since the sound quality is better than the Velocity 300 (which was twice the price new) and unlike the Velocity, it doesn't blow fuses every 5 minutes - I wish other speakers would do that. It hasn't been a bad day. I don't think the aesthetic is great, but it does do the job As far as I am concerned, form matters. Compared to any of the other power amps on the site for $200 or less, this one has more features I need for what I am doing with it. It turned out that the cheapest product was also the best for me. I would recommend it.
