Questions & Answers

Do you know if this is a treated cloth or not?

The cloth we have been using to polish our silverplated saxes is specially treated to remove fingerprints. All is well with it.

You need to know when you will have to replace it in the near future. ?

The amount you use it determines how long it will last. It has lasted over two years for me, and I only use it every six months.

What is the best way to clean the inside of the flute with this?

The product is only meant for the outside of the body. To begin with, it is way too thick to be used as a swab and to continue, it is a 2 inch product. There is one cloth that has been chemically treated on the inside. The last thing you need inside your flute is that. The only place to go is outside!

As I was reading the instructions I found out not to use on lacquered surfaces so I purchased this to polish my lacquered trombone. Is there a reason for this? Can anyone tell me if they've run into any major issues?

Unless you want your lacquered finish to look bad, you should not use it on your lacquered instrument as directed. The Blitz company sells a lacquered brass shine cloth, item B00E1EXM88 on Amazon, which is designed to polish A cloth like this should be used on brass that has been plated or raw.

Despite removing fingerprints, it left behind a large patch of a smudge
4/5

Blitz Manufacturing made my horn look gleaming and stylish again, so I called them to sanitize my horn after I had just polished it. Upon speaking with them, they apologized, stating that they may have given me one that wasn't The customer service representative asked for more details about my usage and informed me their Tarnish Eater cloth might be a better option. A replacement will be mailed to me free of charge to make up for the As someone living in our day and age, I was astounded. It is my pleasure to work with.

This is great for those of us whose maintenance routine is not perfect
5/5

Since I'm just starting out as a flutist, I don't have the best habits about putting my flute away in its case after each When I practice, I leave the flute assembled on a flute stand between sessions since I do dry it out between Performing this way allows me to do quick exercises several times a day instead of one long practice session.

However, because I do not maintain my flute properly, parts of my flute tarnished considerably enough that my teacher thought it was damaged. In the photo, I am using the Blitz Silver Polish Cloth to clean the heavily tarnished areas of the flute (mainly in places I don't use regularly). I then used the outside, non-metallic cloth to buff the outside down. An example would be polishing and There's a big difference between my flute and the one I had before. This won't get rid of tarnish between the keys, but it does look a great deal better than before. Neither the polishing cloth nor the dry, fluffy cloth scratched my surface.

My flute was perfectly restored
5/5

Thank you so much! Three years ago, I took my last flute lesson and put the instrument away. Since the flute had stayed in its case in the kitchen for so long, I decided to take private flute lessons again about one month ago. When I arrived at the teacher's studio, I checked the flute's condition. The case horrified me and my future instructor both when we opened it up There were brown, black, and dark grey parts that were difficult to put together on my flute, and the assembly areas were so poor that I barely could force the piece I was advised at the end of the lesson to get a clean, oil, and adjustment. This will cost me $250 in NYC. A person could spend up to 450 dollars, depending on where they I thought this had cast a long shadow over my efforts towards learning this instrument again. But before I quit for good, I wanted to discuss it with another teacher to find out if there was anything else I could do. A second teacher told me about the Blitz Polish Cloth, which I was very fortunate to discover. The color of my flute has been restored to 90% of the color it was before I stopped lessons three years ago after 4 hours and 2 pounds of elbow grease. Together, the joints fit perfectly, and the sound is identical to that of the original recording. It was this product that made me start lessons again after having stopped for so long. If you are thinking of spending more than $450 on a clean/oil/adjust, then maybe this is the alternative. Perhaps it is your best shot at saving your budding career in performance.

Silver instruments are easily polished with this product when tarnish is removed
5/5

These have been my go-to reeds for years on my silver plated Yamaha 62 alto saxophone. The horns can be polished very well with them to remove any tarnish build up. Additionally, as a band director, I have used these to clean and polish silver plated brass instruments and they always do the trick. When it comes to substantial buildup and hard to reach places, the effectiveness of this product may be limited. I recommend that you take it to a repairman you trust to do an extensive cleaning, but in all other cases I can't recommend this product.

The best product on the market! Worked like a charm! The best product on the market! You can use it on heavy tarnish to remove it

It is then buffed and shinned that the outer cloth is applied. In the past, I have used it with excellent results on sterling silver, brass, This silver polishing cloth is my favorite. I ordered 4 more because the other 4 were used up. I have tried 6 different silver polishing products and this one works best and is my favorite.

A polishing tool that I love! Blitz cloths have been my choice since high school (I started playing Trumpet when I was in elementary school)
5/5

When I used my Bach Strad before I had them, I applied a messy silver cream all over the instrument and it ended up EVERYWHERE. As much as I disliked the appearance of tarnish, I found the mess that came with the cleaning process even more frustrating. * This is the description of the store clerk at our local music store. The study of trumpet performance - After I complained about my bad experience with the silver polish cream, he suggested this cloth. For the sake of it, I bought one- The only thing I had to lose was - I began using the cloth directly after receiving my Strad four years ago, and I could not believe how quickly it rejuvenated my four year old Strad! With the inner cloth you can really get to work loosening up the tarnish and removing it straight off of It provides a nice shine in the silver when you buff it out with the outer cloth. Despite a good amount of wear, I was able to buy a new cloth several months later. (I'm three years into college, still playing music, and have never stopped using Blitz cloths. is always appreciative. Each time a silver plated instrument player asks for a polish, I suggest this product to them. While silver creams work well, you may not enjoy the mess that goes with them. If that's the case, Blitz cloths are a good alternative.

Polishing your flutes with a flute polisher is It is quick and easy to use
5/5

I polished up the silver plated Yamaha 221 flute with no problem. My plan actually was to polish only the keys and rods as well as the head and foot in order to give it a 2-hour shine The tone effect is shown in the photos There's a stark contrast in the two images.

The cloth is excellent for cleaning silver

Over the past 12 years, one of these cloths has served me well and is still in good condition. In order to have a spare, I purchased a new one.
