To be on the safe side, I installed these hangers with 2'' inches screws instead of the provided small ones. I would hate to lose one of my instruments. I have no idea what damage my Yamaha bass received when I dropped the support on it. It separated from the base as soon as I put my bass there, I wasn't fast enough to catch it and my bass fell to the floor. I'm not sure it sustained any other damage. While the other 4 hangers seem ok, I cannot put anything in them now that I don't trust them. At the least, I can guarantee that this product does not undergo any type of quality assurance and many of them do not meet the advertised durability standards. As a result of my contact with Amazon they offered me a $5 credit which does not even cover the cost for the hanger for my frustration and irreversible damage to my $500+ Whenever I close my eyes, I am immediately brought back to that moment, where my bass hit the floor and I hear the rhythm of it.
These guitar hangers worked fine for all the stringed instruments I owned, including a heavy old Peavy 4 string bass and a small uke. There is only one complaint about this Each baseplate of a sturdy metal hanger has four holes at the corners for attaching toys. If you are willing to take the risk of a weak dry wall anchor holding up to the weight and movement of your stringed instruments over the years, then these four holes are perfect for you. As far as I am concerned. All of the hangers needed to be mounted on sturdy mounts. The wood screws I wanted to install would be able to pierce 16-inch spaced 2x4s behind drywall typical of a residential environment. Using a stud finder is a simple and inexpensive way to do this. The problem is. Furthermore, you will need to drill your own holes in the center of each of the I'm not having a hard time with this. But the manufacturer should have anticipated that in most cases, people are not going to trust 4 drywall anchor screws to secure the weight of a A guitar they enjoy playing might be an option as well. Flimsy drywall was used for the walls. I agree, if these hangers were designed with the proper 2 CENTER holes they would be sturdy enough for 2x4 wall studs. The all metal construction is fantastic. I would give them five stars. Exception the area where guitar neck wood is in contact with the hanger is covered with good dense foam. All five of these hangers almost got a Four Star rating from me. The problem is. It is also pricey, but it's a great deal! In order to install your 3 inch or longer wood screws, drill two holes IN THE CENTER of each hanger. To be cheap but tough, I used a tougher material- This is better-than- The finish on the deck screws and a cordless HAMMER DRILL made the process quick and easy.
Bottom line, I broke one in my hand when I broke the weld of the fork right away. This does not impress me. Buying these five hangers gave me the best value for money. The covers are okay, but I don't particularly like them. The foam covers are soft against the guitar neck, but they're wrinkled and cheap-looking. I think the best guitar hanger design would be two strong screws, installed into studs. This 4 bolt pattern is probably meant to be installed with drywall anchors, since the bolt's holes are 1-1/4 inches long. The distance between each screw is 25", so it isn't possible to screw four screws into a stud at once. Using drywall anchors to secure guitars is never something I would do. Maybe it would be better to drill through two holes at the same time, and then drive the screws into the studs? I do not think these are particularly strong or attractive and they're not very basic. It is possible, however, that they will.
A great price! They swivel so they can fit any neck or head shape. was able to use them for my Telecaster, Jazzmaster, and 5-string bass as well. Despite it not being pictured, I checked whether or not it would fit on my concert ukulele, and it worked, although I already had a ukulele hanger. The plug wall anchors and screws that came with them were plastic, but I used my own screws. An adjustable nut holds the hanger part of the wall mount in place, so it can be loosened or tightened according to how you want it to be used (positioned or swiveled). Since all of my guitars are going to the same hanger, I tightened the nut so it remained in the same position each time (I hope In this case, I expected the mounting device to be made of thicker material but I am not concerned about its structural integrity because they appear to be extremely well built. Overall, I am very satisfied.
Having purchased a few other pairs of these, I do not like them nearly as much. hangers have only two mounting holes. This one has 4, while most do not. Consequently, screwing on to a stud is impossible without angling them very much, which then means the screws are not flush with the wall. I am also concerned with the way the hanger is attached to the base. I could imagine that in the future, I might need to take these off the wall for tightening.
Though they are not the most attractive, you know what you are getting because they look exactly like the picture. It took me having a telecaster fall through another brand because it slid down and then sideways to find these to be much better. The foam is firmly attached to the metal and the saddle is deep enough that the head can't drop out.
These hangers look great. They are all metal and have a foam layer to protect the guitars. These guitar straps come with four screw holes for added stability, and they come complete with everything you need to hang your guitar. In my experience, I hung mine on studs, and I have seen drywall anchors come loose from the wall under a heavy.
Considering that it comes with a pack of five, I think it's an excellent price. It is a sturdy product with a sturdy foam coating. My husband and I hung each guitar on the wall of our entertainment/music room using all of their hangers.
