Questions & Answers

Is this chord stand compatible with a soft case for a 6 string electric bass?

Despite the size, it is not large enough for a gig bag, but it is perfect for my tele or strat anyway

A Thunderbird was just purchased recently. Will this be sufficient for this purpose?

Having no clue what a thunderbird is, my banjo does a great job being held in place by it. There are two brackets on each cradle. The deepest part of this compartment is 5 inches

Dimensions when folded what do they look like?

The size of the image is 54 by There are 39 x 5 pieces. This is a 12 inch measurement.

It can be used with a mountain dulcimer, right?

If you were to use it, I would say it would be inferior in quality. Perhaps the stand will not work with the dulcimer if it is lying on its side.

Strandberg guitars will look great on this stand
4/5

The adjustable support hooks on this stand allow perfect alignment of the guitar- and the price is right. (Strandberg makes a stand specifically for their guitars, but they are currently not for sale due to manufacturing quality issues. plus they look cheap and are way overpriced. ) Body is held firmly in place by the side arm that adjusts to fit the contours. In this stand, the guitar leans back slightly more than other stands. Because it does not have a head stock and has a compact body, I am not concerned about it falling over if it is The long scale, head stock heavy bass like a Gibson Thunderbird may be problematic with this stand since guitars lean back more in this than in other stands. For this reason, you cannot position the stand as close to a wall as you might with an other stand. In this case, there are a number of negatives. 2) The tiny rubber foot plugs on the bottom of the stand pop out of their holes far Simply pull the stand out and throw it away if you are only using it on carpet because it will disappear once you remove it. In case you use the stand on hard surface, I recommend replacing the rubber plugs or trying to glue them in. To replace mine, I used slip-on rubber tubular feet from an old keyboard stand that was constructed with the same 1 & 1 inch tubes. This tubing measures 1/8 inch in diameter. The feet on this stand are too expensive (Fender should have used these feet from the beginning) ) The adjustable side arm looks like it was added as an Although the rest of the stand is well constructed, the side support arm is not that strong with a thin, round metal piece with foam slipped over the top. In addition, since the arms mounting bracket is fixed in place, it cannot be moved up and down or switched to another side in order to accommodate non-permanent installation The left-handed variant of the traditional shape The guitar and bass are played with the left hand. As far as I am concerned, a design mistake has been made. As a means of holding the round piece of metal in place, a knob with a flat-ended piece of threading is used- Sadly, it doesn't work. The threaded knob of the arm needs to have a flat section to grip properly, so I used a Dremel to grind the flat area of the arm. As the first and possibly the only part of the stand to break, the arm will be in danger first. These guitars are too flat to fit on most There is no guarantee as to what you will experience.

I would not leave them on here for a long time
5/5

It allows you to temporarily store strangely shaped guitars. For when I needed to set my guitars down while I fiddled with something else, or had to write something down, I wanted a stand where I could hold them for a few moments without having to unplug them and return them to the rack where they normally sit while I play. Usually I use hanging guitar hooks but I wanted something that would fit in more compactly. For one, I have 3 explorer shaped guitars and one flying V, so I would get a regular A-frame hook. It would not be possible to hang the frame on a stand. Thank God I found this, because it worked exactly for what I needed, and it folds up nicely to store away as well. As a permanent residence for my guitars, this wouldn't be my first choice for a case. That, however, is the only complaint I have, and probably a deal breaker for some. As a result of this coupled with the weight of my guitars and their awkward shape, I am uneasy about leaving them there all the time, in contrast to the hanging guitar stands, that I still really trust, which is something I do not experience with the guitar stands. My paranoia might not be entirely justified, but I thought I should mention it. I needed it for a specific purpose, but it works well for it This compact adjustable stand folds up when not in use and is perfect for guitars with odd shapes Thus, I give this a 5 star rating.

This is a Strandberg recommended product if you are in a quiet place, and not in the vicinity of pets, kids, or drummers
5/5

There is no replacement for the wooden stand that Strandberg discontinued and until they are able to find a new one this fender stand can be recommended. Not too pricey for what you get, this is an excellent stand. Two support arms adjust independently because about a dozen holes are drilled into the twin verticals to allow them to be positioned in various ways. Make sure you take your time to find the perfect setup as it may feel good in the moment, but it may not be the best. Side arms make it feel a little more secure and add a nice touch. I do recommend you glue the little rubber feet in place as others have pointed out the feet pop out constantly. The purpose of this set is for a stage if you have pets, children, or clumsy friends, I would not leave my instruments on it for long periods of time. For a wall mount like this one String Swing makes, I recommend you use it. It is a recommended product, and I would buy it again if I had the option.

This holds oddly shaped objects Acoustic guitars come in a variety of shapes
3/5

The fact is. Although it works well for holding my Jackson Kelly KE3, I accidentally bumped the side-bar that holds the edge of the guitar in place to prevent it from sliding off, and the bracket that holds it (with the side-bar attached) popped Having been a welder and fabricator for over 30 years, I am extremely concerned about the little to no indication of penetration in the tack weld holding it to the side of the stand. It is almost As if superglue had been holding it on, it just popped off cleanly with a single tap. You need to fire your quality assurance/quality control guy, as well as There's no way I can figure out how to affix two metal objects While the stand works, it only does half of what it was intended to. I also agree that the guitar leans way too far back towards the wall, as has been pointed out by others. A solution should be found to that problem.

Still, it is a good stand
4/5

I'm very impressed with the construction of this stand. In addition to a Flying V, I own two Rhoads and two PRS guitars. As a regular stand would work fine for my PRS and V shaped guitars, I was looking for a stand that would suit my V shaped guitars. I only have one complaint about the stand, which does not clear the floor very much on the long side. Anyone who owns a Rhoads knows how easily the tip can be damaged. To protect the tip, I put a piece of rubber fabric on Until I took the time to adjust it, the guitar did lean to the right more than usual. The quality of the product appears to be good. A little more height in the stand would have made it easier for me to play the guitar.
