Questions & Answers

Can they be found in zebra print or crime print?

Taking them is the only way to turn them into a criminal!

What do you think about these amps for high gain? The sound I'm looking for is somewhere between vintage and super high muddy output, like that of ?

You almost never have a clean with invaders because they are so hot. The bridge is a sh4 JB and the neck is a sh2n Jazz. In terms of tone, these are good matches, but if you like something even hotter, use the SH1n 59 in the neck and SH4 JB in the bridge. Both of these work well with good distortion, if necessary, without the ugly muddy sound. The best 80s hair bands include Van Halen, Ozzy Ozbourn, or even most of the 80's rock It's also possible to use Distortions and Invaders if you need something heavier. If versatility is what you need, then try Duncan Distortions. It would be best to use the JB bridge and either the SH1 59 or the SH2n Jazz It's my preference to listen to the JB 59 set, but JB Jazz is an excellent combo as well! Have fun!

In a HSH setup, what would be a good single coil to use with these?

This way, the middle pickup will remain separate and be heard, and the 59 can still be identified from the 59 YJM Fury or SSl5. These are both high output pickups so that way the middle pickup can still be recognized.

What are the dimensions? Will these fit a SG? I have a Chinese copy of SG in which there are "hum buckers". It is in the process of being upgraded. ?

The pickups will fit any standard guitar equipped with two humbuckers. Among the humbuckers in my Epiphone Les Paul are a set of Seymour Duncans.

Sound is where it is
5/5

I like this sound a lot. All of my wiring was completed by me. A full setup of pickups and tuners, a Babicz bridge and a few other tweaks took 16 hours. I lined all the pockets with foil tape and installed a frame tuner, but I also added new pots and the Also, I made a mistake which needed to be corrected. A complete set up was used for this video. It would have taken around four hours maybe less with standard wiring if we just had pickups and wiring done. In addition to the Jimmy Page style diagram on the SD website, I used the above diagram. It is complicated, but produces outstanding results. You can now choose from a wide range of sound styles with this setup! As far as the soldering iron is concerned, I used a standard tin soldering iron for this. It is wrapped in 22AWG stranded 600v teflon insulated wire. The pots are Bourns split top short 500k push/pull switches, Musiclily 3 way toggles, The last piece of equipment I used was Capacitors with an orange drop of 047uf and 200v. My Amazon purchases have all been from here. The last three times I did wiring jobs, I succeeded. I don't find soldering to be difficult, and I'm not having trouble I was able to get a good result as long as I didn't short out the connection (as I did and it took me 3 hours to fix).

I was able to create a great sound using my cheap guitar! A $140 Ibanez gio super strat prompted me to buy these buckers
5/5

Even though I have always loved the feel and sound of this guitar, I have never really liked the sound of the cheap Ibanez I love how it sounds with these pickups. It has much crisper lows and no longer sounds mushy, and it has rich and sustained highs, and punchy and hot mids. With these, you'll get a little bit of that fat humbucker sound, but you can also get a bit of the single-coil sound as well. This sounds like a It has a crisp clean sound for jazz, a slight drive for blues, and an all out sound for rock and metal, I find these strings have a wonderful sound when playing this guitar, despite the fact that I own several "better" guitars. Note that I did not have any soldering experience, and bought a kit on Amazon that was extremely cheap. It's hard to mess it up so badly that the guitar won't function. Watch the Seymour Duncan video on YouTube, be careful, and take pictures of all the connections before you begin. I did a poor job of it, but it's not that difficult to fix.

Compared to my expectations, it exceeded them
5/5

The subtleties of guitars seem to be getting more and more obvious to me as I get older. Additionally, I'm starting to notice that some of the very popular pickups don't sound as great as they used to. In the past, my wife has bought me a couple of things for Christmas, like a second-hand guitar The guitar is a PRS SE Zack Myers guitar that was upgraded with Gibson Classic '57 pickups. These pickups are legendarily good, aren't they? I felt the sounds were muddy and 'blah' to my ears. It was starting to worry me that I may have a "tin ear" since I'm not that great of a player. In the end, I took a chance and purchased these SD pickups after reading a lot of reviews and hearing a lot of sound samples online. They arrived with Amazon's usual speed, and on a day when I had free time to do an installation of does not have coil splitting, but the installation directions were easy to read and I was able to do it quickly and easily. In terms of neat soldering and the way I tied the ribbon, I was very proud of myself. Everything was shut down, the guitar was restrung, and it was plugged There is only one thing I can say. I am amazed! Let there be no muddiness here, I enjoyed the fat Jazzy tone that came from the neck of the guitar, as well as the hot Guitar's sound completely changed after installing this set of pickups. I think of it as being like a new That's the coolest thing I've seen. So, if you are still on the fence, I recommend you try these pickups. There will be no disappointment for you.

Exceptional sounding pups that were knocked down by 1 star because of the wire gauge
4/5

The change did not affect the sound, but I had to splice on a larger piece of wire for the pots to attach to. They should have been able to use a thicker wire. Really makes the product seem cheap. (wires were too small to strip with standard stripping pliers) Annoying. It has a fantastic sound because it is set up with vintage wiring from the 1950s. On the whole, I am not disappointed, I am just a little It's probably true.

You get a lot of bang for your buck with this one! In the 1990s)
5/5

It is not the pickups or the sub-bass, but the guitar body that made it great The pots and switches were not up to par, so it was not a going-as I've always been thrilled to play The hot rodded humbuckers came next. After I swapped out all the stock parts for CTS pots and Switchcraft components, I put them in. I am amazed! The Gibson Les Paul has now been blown out of the water by this guitar. Since upgrading to the Samick I have been mostly sticking with it. I have about 16 electric guitars to choose from. We improved the tone pots with coil splits as part of our potentiometer upgrade. The pickups sound incredible with or without effects and are really versatile thanks to the new switch configuration. for SD pickups, these are also value priced. The price was around $120 when I got them on sale.

solid pickups
4/5

If you are looking for a pickup set that does a good job on clean and dirty tones, and are versatile enough on wiring to allow coil splitting, then these are a good choice. As a comparison, I gave four to one. There is only one thing holding them from five stars they aren't as good as the 2002 Carvin M22SDs I replaced with them. It is likely that they will be returned.

Since these babies have been installed, I have enjoyed playing this guitar even more
5/5

It's amazing how good these pickups make an old guitar sound. The Epiphone Les Paul Special II that I own was badly in need of a restoration. It was nearly impossible for me to pick up that guitar to play it, because it sounded horrid. There is no such thing as a wrong pickup these are smooth, creamy, crunchy, or Since these babies have been installed, I have enjoyed playing this guitar even more. My Epiphone only has two knob Pots, so I needed to follow a separate wiring diagram to get them installed because they are made for a Les Paul (Real Les Paul) and my Epiphone only has four pots. The wires didn't connect right away, but with a little finagling I was able to get them going. This guitar became one of my favorites in my collection after making a great investment.
