Questions & Answers

Can the frets be made of steel?

Frets in nickel/silver are used in this guitar. My sincere thanks to you for asking this

How is the neck finished? Is the headstock finished with Clear Satin Polyurethane?

It is made of satin in clear color. There have been several of these which I have used and have found them to be To get a clear gloss finish on my projects, I first sand them, spray them with a good vinyl sealer, and then lacquer them with nitrocellulose lacquer of good quality.

would you be able to ship this using UPS or FedEx? Can I send packages through USPS but my post office won't let me?

FedEx is the current delivery service used by stewmac. This is excellent
5/5

Prior to purchasing this Mighty Mite Neck for my Strat, I read what others had had to say about it. This neck is said to have been the favorite of most people when compared to Fender, Warmouth, and Squire. It wasn't my first time restoring a guitar, and I was not disappointed. This is an amazing product in terms of finishing and quality. I just found the heel to be a little thick. It fit the body of my guitar very well after a quick sander job to take it down 3/16". In order to adjust the truss rod for the small relief required to accommodate my setup, I adjusted it about a 1/4 turn. Despite the level frets and straight neck, the fretboard is still slightly uneven. In order to avoid damage during shipping, the package arrived heavily padded and well-boxed. The fact that this product came in at $150 rather than $200 for the Fender is a major plus. The Fender is known to have rough finishes and uneven frets, and has This neck is the perfect addition to the There will be nothing to disappoint you.

This slipper was not the length listed on the website, but it was lovely nonetheless
4/5

I had to dock one star because it was 55 mm wide at the heal, not 55 mm as listed. It has a 56 mm StewMac list. There is also an imperfection on the hole that holds the tuner. You can find a picture of it here. Even though the tuning machine hides the imperfection, it is still evident. As well, the nut is smaller than listed and is 1 5/8 inches instead of 2 Applied easily to my MIM Stratocaster, and it feels extremely nice. The satin finish is superior to the original gloss polyurethane finish. You don't need to work on the frets or nut. The frets went from 21 to 22 without any issues as well. As far as the frets are concerned, I have polished them. Compared to the old neck, this one is more comfortable to play with.

The neck is fine
5/5

My standard tele is a bit more comfortable than this but it's still not as good as my Am Std Tele's neck. A blemish bump could be found up near the 3rd fret on the back of the neck. It's just a bit larger than a speck, which causes you to feel it. However, over time, the area will smooth out, and you won't notice it until you put your face right up against it. I like the way it feels and plays. The black hardware really makes the piece pop. Although the frets are a bit sharp at first, I'm used to them now and don't notice them anymore. It won't scratch your skin or cut it. As for the strat, I wanted to make it playable and attached it to a Squier Affinity strat. Despite only paying forty dollars for the guitar, I now consider it to be one of my favorites. Another would be a good buy and I would recommend it.

This is a great neck replacement
5/5

A MIM Strat that I bought back in 2000 had its neck scalloped right away. Its scalloped neck did not sit well with me and I end up taking it out of the cabinet and putting it away for The neck was the only piece of equipment needed to bring it back to play. After applying tung oil, the next step was to coat it with a few coats of primer. This is the third time I have applied A total of four coats were applied over a two-day period. You should apply the product and let it soak in for 30 minutes. Remove any excess after 30 minutes. It won't last long if you let it sit! After a certain period of time, repeat. When the tung oil dries, it takes a bit to get used to, but after a few days the surface becomes very smooth and pleasant to touch. To prevent scratching, the last step required 0000 steel wool to be used on the wood parts of the fretboard after tape has been applied. There were initially a few rough spots on the frets, but they are easy to Once the neck was ready, a little lemon oil was applied. My tuners fit perfectly when I purchased some inexpensive locking tuners. As well as the neck, it fit perfectly with the body. If I ordered another one of these for a future build, I would definitely order another one of these. It is up to the customer to finish it in a way they see fit, so I didn't give it five stars for workmanship. Out of the box, the fretboard is lightly rough with no finish. The difference between good and great is a matter of choice.

What a beautiful neck you have! On a Jag build I completed for my son, I used this neck
5/5

The first time I used it, it was perfect! My expectation was that there would be rough spots or fret sprouts, but it was very accurate. As a Mighty Mite user for most of my life, I know a thing or two about their products. I was "put off" of the fact that all of it is imported now, but apparently Indonesia makes some good necks.

I like the feel of the neck on this Strat
5/5

This was my first time playing the neck on a gig last night and I was really impressed! This Fender works just as well as any Fender I have ever played, and for a much lower price. If you are looking to replace or rebuild, this one is ideal.

You don't need to spend extra money on brand name neckties
5/5

It's much better than the previous one. Considering I was looking to spend a significant amount of money on a project guitar, I was a bit hesitant about purchasing an off-brand neck. I'm happy I chose this neck for my project guitar. In my opinion, this is better than a licensed Fender neck.

The neck on my custom guitar was easy to install and was of good quality
4/5

This is my first attempt at building a guitar so I have no experience selecting guitar parts, but the neck fit perfectly and is easy to install. There was no lacquer finish on the neck, as far as I know. No strings or tuning pegs need be added to the neck, but frets need to be installed and holes have to be drilled for mounting to the body and for attaching One flaw with the neck I received was that the high e string's groove in the nut was shallow, so it would pop out with an open high e string. In the past, I've tried to deepen the groove in the nut with a knife. But I haven't had much success.
