My Fender P 4 string string works great with it.
You can use a pilot hole that is up to 1/16" in diameter if you use 3/32" screws. Make sure the fit is right before drilling into a headstock with a scrap piece of wood. You will not find instructions in the package.
My t-shirt fits very well on my Squier neck. I'm not sure which model it is, however.

During a build with a G&L string retainer, I used this Hipshot string retainer The neck is long. I like how it fits in with the aesthetic of the site. We received our order quickly and at no charge. The string retainer was easy to install, came with the mounting screws, and I will use it This is a 5 star rating.
It looks great and was an easy install (5/64 drill bit works well). I was able to cover the hole in the old string tree with decorations from my five-year-old.
Didn't fit my bass, but then again the problem wasn't with the device. A friend of mine who is a luthier received it from me. Those who need it will be able to find.
The only downside is that the letter "F" is partially covered by the frame if mounted on a fender. I really like the quality of this "A" string and the way it keeps the string in place!.
My Jazz bass was built using this as a part. This is much better than using the small disk retainers to keep the D and G strings intact.
Had I gone with the two string version, I would have been fine. Top loading is one of their main selling points, just like their bridge.
This is an easy to install product. If you do not want to mess with your headstock logo, it barely fits. A string problems are no longer a problem.
