I think it fits well but it's not as nice as a vintage pickguard by any means. As you can see in the photo, the color is muted, darker and more boring. The quality of the product should have been much higher for the price. A brief update For the yellow and brown pickguards, I think they have them reversed. Based on the pictures I ordered the Brown 11 hole '64 jazz version, but what I ended up receiving looks like what they have listed as the Tortoise. The Tortoise I thought I ordered is actually the more red and yellow swirl that I ordered. It is my hope that they will take care of this and send me the order I thought I had ordered. Upon updating this review, I will make necessary changes.
Exactly what I was looking for for my new Jazz Bass Mim player. According to the part number, it seems to be for a made in USA As the truss rod adjustment is on the pick guard, and my Made in Mexico jazz bass has it just behind the nut, I am certain that it is in the pickguard. In spite of this, it still fits snugly.
There are two options for guards since the reissues Only four stars because it came slightly bowed, or raised in the center, due to the order from Amazon. First I sent the first back, but the replacement looked exactly like the first. Due to the fact that the reissue guards have an extra pickguard screw right in the middle, it was no big deal to install it and it laid flat on my project bass. Additionally, it fit around the neck and against the control plate well. You can buy this and be ensured a perfect fit, rather than buying an off-brand shirt.
Fender's part is an official part, so it'll fit The product must have been built) Standard or MIM (Mexican factory) I had no problem getting it to fit my MIM standard Jazz. In the end, I did not have to loosen the control plate it slid easily over the factory screw holes and I tightened them. A small cut out is present at the bottom of the neck joint for the truss rod so that it can be attached to the MIA standard. Models made from MIM don't require this, so you can see some of the body wood through it. Not even a lot of people notice it, nor does it take away from the overall look. A pick guard such as this cannot be used on a Deluxe model.
Instead of buying a copy, I decided to spend more money on an authentic Fender. To ensure it was of good quality and fit, it was a knock off. There shouldn't be any problem with the quality of this product since it's a simple product. There is an appropriate heavy gauge and it is flat. There is, however, no way to fit it I am unable to fit the syringe through the hole. The Jazz Bass I own is an early 90s MIM. It is necessary now to sand or file the hole a little bigger so that it fits. I may not like the way it looks once I am finished. This is a very disappointing result.
Fender deserves credit for their success. In order to get what you pay for, you should be prepared to spend. Other than that, they're all trash.
It dressed up my Fender jazz just how I liked it.
The exact opposite of what I expected -- Fit perfectly on my MIM Jazz. A quality Fender product.
