Though I was slightly apprehensive about the fit due to the bargain price, it turned out to be JUST as snug as the original pick guard, and really opened up the appearance of the guitar. It turns out that I did not need the dremel tool, but was prepared to break it out just in case. It turned out a little brighter, warmer, and a little more orange than what I initially thought. This is just fine with me, as the color and texture are absolutely incredible, even if it doesn't look like natural wood, and is exceptionally sharp on my black A free pick and new hardware were included as well, so quality is 100% there.
Although the pickguard fitted perfectly, I did not have access to the truss rod cutout, so I used my drill and easily cut a round notch and it works perfectly! The black one does not show fingerprints like the white one does. And it's a great price for a 3 ply too!.
My goal was to replace the white pickguard included with the base with the black one. There's a jazz bass I have that was made in Mexico. It is a perfect fit, according to the ad. There was no such thing. In order to get the pickup to work, I had to bore out the pickup hole a bit with a file. I didn't have to wait long to get the results. It's just something I thought might be of use to those who aren't prepared to adjust. It may not be the case with all of them. The rest is up to you. Despite its simplicity, the graphic is pleasing to look at and the picture is accurate.
I think it's beautiful as well. I love how it fits beautifully and looks great. It's with a 2003 black MIM J Bass and I are just in love with There is an apparent response to light between the floral pattern and the background. Depending on the angle at which it is viewed, it emits different colors. There is no difference between the build and pickguards going for three times as much. It came with mounting screws, though I used those already on hand.
I find this so I don't fit in this! There is perhaps a 1mm gap between the pickup and the opening. It's a shame because I had hoped for an easy swap that would plug and play.
I absolutely love this.
