Questions & Answers
Power sources are referred to as AC or DC. The term piezo is used to describe materials that produce an electrical current when vibrations disturb them. So far as power sources are concerned, all sound reproductions are alternating, but not power sources by themselves. A piezo crystal is most often used in fire-starters, which create a spark when triggered. As shown in the question, pickups are discs that are glued or clamped onto soundboards or bridges of guitars to create amplified sound for acoustic guitars or drums.
Double spaces are used by me Tape that is double sided. If possible, use the thinnest tape you can find in order to minimize cushioning effects that might degrade responsiveness.
This amplifier is capable of picking up the sound of almost anything, but it needs to be hooked up to a sound source. Unless you use a wireless jack connection, I'm not sure how you could do that with shoes.
Since the output of these discs is so small, it is measured in millivolts, although for a mechanical engineer like me, such questions are of no use.

Using a pill bottle as a mounting base, I mounted the aux jacks and soldered them together. Double sided tape completed the installation, and now I can plug my acoustic guitars into my electric amplifiers. It's awesome to be able to place them on top of my guitar in two different locations so I can mix the sound. Recently, I made one with two jacks so I could place both on top of my guitar at the same time. Several of my friends say they cannot believe how good it sounds and want me to make them one right away. By putting one on my kalimba (finger piano) and then adding a reverb pedal to it, I can use awesome sounds and effects On my next project, I'll solder light, flexible springs to one of them so that it can produce a spring reverb when attached to the top of my guitar. If you like turning acoustic instruments into electric instruments, you'll love these. I was amazed at the sound quality.
Typically, 22 AWG wire or smaller will be used. What I mean is. You've got a tiny space there. This sensor wasn't working on the one There was a terrible time for me. I ended up- By using (admittedly as a re-use) I soldered the leads on a sensor from a different manufacturer (the other vendor soldered the leads). There is a difference in sensitivity. More reliable, but still more costly. An error by the user could be responsible for this. My experience with them, however, has been less than positive. To be more specific, I'm trying to use analogRead() the input pin in hopes of sending velocity data via MIDI eventually. A second time. There hasn't been a lot of good in these.
It's fantastic what they do! However, the wire gage could be heavier but it works quite well as is. In my experience, the only issue I ever have with these is when the piezo element itself stops working. Due to the fact that I use them as triggers, they take some of the impact of the drum head vibrations and of me hitting the drum head hard. Often, they just leave on their own. Their prices are much better than what I've found elsewhere. Additionally, they are by far the most reliable brand I've used online.
The boxes will be used to make stomp boxes. I really like the way they sound. Only had it a couple of days, so have no idea how long it will last. A few people have complained about the wires being small. They are, but if you secure them after soldering connections, it looks like they'll be fine. I stuck the p/u on with gel super glue, and secured the wires with hot glue.
There is a high quality of sound in this song. The one that I mounted on my 1940s banjolele was mounted on with double stick tape. This sounds great in amps that don't have any preamplifiers.
In my case, I use it to trigger drum modules. There is a very high failure rate with these applications due to their high vibration. However, they work as you would expect in most situations.
In light of my son's electronic drums, I ordered these to play around with as well. All of his drum triggers have been converted to Dual Triggers The two of them are trying to make custom percussive triggers using Zone's.
