Questions & Answers

I'm looking for locking tuners to go on a Telecaster, and I found this product. Is this product suitable for my instrument? Can you let me know if these will work with ?

Tuners with locking fender post MIM are generally fine, but people tend to be confused There are locking strings, so you need to slack the string and tune them You can tune it down to unlock it as soon as you do so. A ratchet strap would be a good analogy. A pencil lead like graphite will help the nut stay in place. A little messed up but it

Could they be used with a right handed standard for 2014 MIM?

Quite easy to install on a right handed 2006 MIM standard Strat with perfect alignment of the peg holes. As soon as they arrived, they started working.

Does this fit the 2014 MIM Strat without any modifications?

It is also possible to replace the tuners on this MIM Strat by replacing the original tuners (made by Ping). Tuners that come with the Fender "Vintage" style are not compatible with Strats without some modifications. To determine whether your tuners are in alignment, simply remove one of your existing tuners and look for two alignment pins on the back of the tuner which fit into two small holes drilled into them to the rear of your head stock. You're in the clear if you have those alignment pins.

How do these height tuners differ from compensated/staggered ones?

In short, yes. It is possible to find tuners of two different heights. The order is three long and three short. Just to let you know, there is no other option. The remaining three of these I purchased were exclusively checked to see if there was any stumbling within the groups of three, and it The difference between these and normal sealed tuners is dramatic. The heft of the guitars enables them to keep their tuning even when changing strings on the fly This should be of some help! If you will

This pair was purchased for sprucing up an old Chinese Squier Bullet Strat I decided was good enough with some work
5/5

These were done at the same time as lots of other work, so I cannot say they were the only thing that changed about The tuner holes did have to be reamed and the pin holes for the locating pins had to be drilled. I didn't think it was a huge deal, but reading about it had an intimidating feeling. This was not the case. To indent the tuners, I used a straight edge and used a $10 reamer, tightening the tuners enough while using it to make slight indents. It took me about an hour and a half to make a set of locking tuners for a fraction of what the guitar cost. After marking my depth with tape and drilling the alignment holes, I had them done. My opinion is that it is totally worth the investment. There's nothing left on it from stock other than the body and the neck, but it's still a good guitar.

It is important to know how to fit them well
5/5

It was me who was one of the "unlucky" people who found the Tuners did not My Mexican Strat is too small to take the caliches, and there were no holes for the two little holes to hold the caliches in place. A wood screw was used to secure the tuners in their original location. The thought of sending them back crossed my mind, but I decided to go ahead with A drill is all you need if you know what you're doing. It took me about 45 minutes to complete the process. As a first step, I widened the holes of the tuners with did not harm the guitar in any way. You just need to be careful. As long as you have a great pilot hole at the start, making the two tiny holes to keep the pegs in place shouldn't be too difficult. The first thing I did was to put the pegs in and tighten them. In this way, you can gauge where to drill holes in the wood by creating divets in the wood. As you tighten them, try to keep them straight so the divets in the wood are visible. While you drill, your bit will be held in place by the clamp. As a result, I removed the tuners in order to drill You need to drill the smallest hole you can with the bit you have. Don't get too caught up in the details. This depth is just enough so that the Tuner is flush with the headstock of the guitar. These holes might have to be made wider as you go in order to make the Tuners fit perfectly, but they will never be seen after the Tuners have been installed. It would help if you could describe what it looks like once the tuners are installed. You are in good hands.

The kits work great, have been a breeze to install on my 2000 Made in USA
4/5

I installed these on a 2000 made in Mexico standard without any issues, drop right in and they worked beautifully. For this reason, I marked one star off No mention is made in the listing whether or not these are staggered height tuners. According to the questions, some people have indicated that they are staggered going back many years, so I assumed they must all I received a set of TVs that didn't seem to be staggered in height, they are all identical in Basically, I don't understand why the staggered approach was taken, I'd have preferred the approach that appeared to be the consensus of most buyers.

It has helped my guitar hold tune better since it was installed
5/5

It is easy to swap out these locking tuners if you have a Strat that uses the same size tuners. The old tuners can be just as easily removed as the new ones can be pushed in. Remove the nut holding on the old tuners, drop them out, You only need to deal with that if you don't have one and don't get a staggered set. However, the tall ones go on strings with a big diameter, and the short ones on The tuning on these tuners is not only much easier to handle compared to those on my old guitar, but also the guitar holds tune much better. If your studio is climate controlled, temperature and humidity fluctuations will still disrupt your tunes, but perhaps never have to retune ever again, except for after a session of heavy string bending.

You have an amazing skill with tuning, be careful with Squiers, but keep working! As soon as you open them, you can tell that these tuners are amazing, and they are both great quality
5/5

To make it simple, I am going to spell out how to install them for you Three SHORT TUNERS are present for the high strings of E, B, and G. The three TALL TUNERS are for the D, A, and low E strings respectively. There's no need to get However, they are so handy for stringing my guitar. We'll no longer need to measure slack, wind strings for hours, or worry about It will be tuned up in no time when you pull taut and tighten the screw. Please be aware of the following warning relating to On my Squier Stratocaster Deluxe, I use these tremolos. Here is the There are some issues with these not fitting perfectly on A Squier tuner has short posts that are closer to the tuning shaft than a Fender tuner has. Mostly you will need to drill a few holes deep into your headstock to get them to work, but man, are they worth it! I cannot believe how good they are.

The upgrade is great The tuning holds up very well! I highly recommend this book! The small holes I drilled to accommodate the small 'pegs' had to be a little short
5/5

It wasn't difficult, but it was clear The low E ( closest to the nut) was the starting point, and the end of the headstock was the target The tuners are read one at a time. Overall, very satisfied/ * * * * Other comments / guitar The guitar I have is a Japanese, 1962 Reissue Strat from 1986 - same model as mine. This guitar has a slimmer maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard. Above the headstock, the tuning knobs are 'slightly' shorter (3 mm / 1/8") than they used to be. In addition, three locking posts are raised above the nuts (mount closer to nut). Two are 1/4" / 6mm longer (mount at end of headstock) three are 1/4" / 6mm shorter. A little bit wider are also the 'washers' that clamp the tuners on the headstock face. The key to working steadily and carefully is For the entire job, it took me perhaps one hour and fifteen minutes. I am very satisfied with everything We should have done it a long time ago.

MIM Standard HSS and SSS are direct replacements
5/5

This is a direct replacement for my MIM HSS Standard Stratocaster from 2016. Please do not drill. There is no way to get my stratocaster to go out of tune, no matter how hard I try. I don't know whether that has anything to do with the fact that these tuners are over the stock ones. They are better for changing strings, just because they are better. I do believe those would have given me an advantage due to the fact that the instrument would not go I wasn't able to get it to stay in tune when first receiving it. Graphite is used to lubricate the nut and saddles, and I installed five springs, 10 rollers, and a seat peg. I installed these 52's in Eb, the bridge was floating about an eighth off the body, and then I installed the 55's.

This is excellent

Tuners with locking mechanisms are awesome. The only way to get them is It is said that they make changing strings easier and that they They work great and can be installed directly on Strats and Teles without any modification. It took only 10 minutes for them to be installed.
