There is no doubt these are genuine bone beads they are equally dense, evenly colored and sound fantastic. The dimensions are generous, so you may have to do some sanding and filing, depending on your guitar. I provide the following information for the purpose of showing how I installed the product. It took me a lot of sanding to replace the saddle on my vintage 12 string since I could not find a direct replacement it shouldn't take you as long. My nut was well cut, but I had to file the slot for it even though it was 9-32 During the 1946's. As well as being quite high, I had to sand down the bottom of the nut to make it more suitable for my installation as I had a zero fret. It may need a little sanding to accommodate the neck's width, as once again the dimensions are generous. Besides fitting perfectly into the headstock slot, it also looks great. The bone is hard and dense and takes patience if you've never worked with it. It's hard to work with because it's so hard to work with plastic Wear a dust mask! It's worth it, but wear a.
Those pieces were a perfect fit on a Guild 12 An instrument made with strings. In order to achieve the desired setup on the Guild, the nut and saddle had to be lowered significantly and the saddle shortened at each end, as well as ground several millimeters lower. Having too much material can be problematic, but having more is better. It's important to note that the string slots on the nut are perfect, and that the staggered ridges on the saddle greatly improved string intonation over the original straight saddle installed in the guitar.
As a result of searching for days to find the right bridge for my guitar, I ended up settling for this, not realizing that it was for a 12-string guitar. I can only assume it is thinner than what is advertised, but not by much, and I have no need for it, but the bridge seems to be well made.
I had to work a little to make these two work together. This is especially true for the nuts. I would have had to stand for hours or use the grinder wheel to finish the job. There was no change in sound quality at all that I noticed. You can always learn something new.
I absolutely love this bone nut and saddle on my 12 string guitar - I highly recommend it - This item met my expectations and was a good.
I really liked the way it worked.
