In total, I ordered 4 440hz tuning forks, but 3 of them were not 440hz (all were slightly off Two different brands of clip-ons were used to test them on my guitar You can tune your car with If you don't want to return them, you can adjust their pitch upward easily if you don't feel like returning them. The metal file and/or fine grit sandpaper are required for this (I'd suggest 150-200 grit A 250-grit paper and perhaps a 500-grit paper would be adequate). If you want to speed up this process, you can use a Dremel tool or a grinding wheel. When you want to raise the pitch (if your tuner indicates that it's too low), you simply sand down the corner of the tuning fork tines on either side. It is important to sand each side the same number of times. The best approach is to use five strokes at a time (sandpaper), a metal file, or 2 fast buzzes with a Dremel, and then check it You will have to repeat the process SLOWLY and check repeatedly if it's still flat/below pitch. It needs to read at the correct pitch until you have it. Make sure you polish the edges without removing too much material. Using fine 500grit paper will help you do this. It is more involved to remove material in the "U" if the pitch is too high (you use a file to remove the material at the "U"). If you'd like more information about changing pitch or raising it, search for "tunelab calibrating tuning forks" on Google.
compilation of these for my students who participate in a cappella. In short, it does exactly what it is supposed to. Having them around is great for the kids. One disadvantage is that it leaves a sticky residue on the surface. Do you really need to know this when working with children?.
Tuning my violin with this was my purpose for buying it. In this pack, neither tuning fork produces a consistent A pitch, but rather a flat pitch after a few seconds. This is kinda fun to play around with and it holds the note for a little while, but if you are looking to tune to 440 Hz, you might want to look elsewhere. One unexpected benefit to my violin is that it now sounds baroque-like.
In my science courses, I use them as a classroom demonstration. The perfect fit for our needs.
It was only one in this range that I needed, but I got two. A tuning fork works, and that's what it is. This seems to be a well-made product.
The size is a bit.
Tuning forks of the highest quality As a teacher, I use this program in a music classroom and it performs incredibly well.
