I've been regularly playing on this head for almost a month, and it still looks as if I haven't touched it. Although it is more expensive than other heads, any other head would have already begun to show signs of reasonable use by now. The cost is roughly twice as much, but I expect it to last much longer. br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: It's been about 9 months, and we only discovered chips in the coating about a month ago, which are still very small. This is absolutely incredible for me because I hit hard and play frequently. I'm not sure if I'll ever purchase another head! br>br>Second Edit: After another month, I discovered that the chips I thought were chips were actually scuffs that had been rubbed away with alcohol. I could literally put this head back in the box and hand it to someone, and unless they inspect it closely, they won't notice it's been used. Where my stick usually hits in the middle, there is barely any deformation; the coating is just slightly smoother. I've included a photo of the head as it is right now. A regular G2 (which I used to use) would have reached a significant low point after only a few months. I'm afraid Evans will realize they've created a golden product and stop producing it, similar to how lightbulbs were made in the early twentieth century.
Since they were first released, I've been using these. I prefer the G2 Clear's sound because it has a bit more roundness and sustain. With low tuning, it can be difficult to get enough volume out of larger floor toms. It's a breeze to tune, and it works well with brushes. These are extremely durable and can be left on your set for a long time. They are my second favorite head, but the sound is a little flat.
Simply put, this is a fantastic head with a fantastic sound.
Evans hit the nail on the head with his statement. Use the UV2 series to get the job done. The UV2 heads have been installed in all of my toms (2 drum kits). I don't need any additional muffling, and the resonance is excellent. The heads are extremely simple to tune, and they don't have any stick marks. I play on a regular basis and have had the heads for a few months. Evans, you did an outstanding job!.
This is an excellent drumhead. The sound is exactly what I was looking for, and the quality is excellent. It's simple to tune and produces a wide range of sounds.
If you want to add some "bottom" to your sound, the UV 2 is a great choice. They are definitely worth a look because the finish is "etched" rather than painted, making them more durable.
With these heads, I've improved every aspect of my tom-tom playing, and I'll never go back.
It appears that Evans is concerned with designing a high-quality park in every sense of the word. Evolution and technology are in the hands of the artist. I adore the grave sound, and I plan to have parks for a long time.
