Having read the description of these beaters, I was sure I needed to get them. From the moment the box was opened to when they started playing, it took them about 10 minutes. I found the installation process to be straightforward. The key to a drum set is I wanted to get a set of the Gen 1 Double Speed Cobra Beaters, and they do weigh more than the stock Gen 1 Cobra Beaters. It brings out more definition in the kick drum with these beaters. I noticed that there are no microphones in my practice room and I could feel It felt to me as if my strokes were now more audible, and that my doubles, riding, triplets, and fills, for example, were more evenly spaced out (maybe I couldn't hear them There is no better way to upgrade your home than this. In terms of longevity, I have no doubt Tama's legendary mechanical durability will stand the test of time.
I had my existing head worn out and this is a direct replacement that is easy to install. Buying the beater in parts is much cheaper than buying the entire unit.
This beat has been installed in place of the stock Cobra beat. The articulation in this phone is better, and the impact is absorbed better than in my old phone. This was a worn out item, to be honest. This beater can also be installed on the original shaft of the Cobra. If you own the Cobra, there is no need to buy a completely new unit.
There is no denying that these beaters do the job. A punchy sound that is very good. Although they are often broken, they are sometimes able to do so. One of my drums has lost the soft side of the beater after only one day of use, but that is the only time I've had this happen. There is glue holding it on, so I guess there was not enough glue or it was Although I know that, I still would buy these again.
It's very easy. Now that I have had three, I know what it feels like. It did not take long for all three to break. There is no way to keep the felt piece. While this beater head sounds great and is an improvement over the old 900 beater heads, Tama seems to have problems with all of their beater heads The single Iron Cobra 900 I have right now was preemptively ordered by a third party as I'm not going to risk this breaking during a show or damaging my kickhead.
Although getting them onto the beater was a little challenging and it took a lot of elbow grease, once it was on I do not plan on taking it off any time I find the sound very punchy and focused. It sounds fuller than the standard felt beater, if that makes sense. Having a heavy head makes it much easier to play fast since the swing/rebound are more present with the addition of weight.
