In bands in middle school, my daughter is asked to purchase a 51D. I see it comes in a small and large shaft, but what size should she get?

Her playing completely depends on the horn she is using. In middle school, I would highly recommend that you do not use a 51D. There are far too many holes in this mouthpiece for many 12-year-olds Students in their 14th year of school.

It looks like the picture shows Schilke 50 instead of Schilke 51d on this item, and I am unsure if it should be bought or not?

Based on what I saw on the internet, we have a Schilke 50 and It is not a good idea to buy a 50 if you prefer a 51.

A Bb valve trombone can be fitted with the Schilke 51D mouthpiece?

It's important to consider the diameter of the shank when choosing a trombone mouthpiece. Trombone mouthpieces come in large and small diameters. The large shank is used by trombones with large bores and left hand triggers. In your case, the shank is very small. Adding a small shank to the 51D will allow for a great fit and fit.

I bought it when I was junior in high school in order to bring out a darker tone in the instrument. In my opinion, this mouthpiece was instrumental in helping me achieve this On the whole, it is comfortable to play on, making it one of the top options for a small shank euphonium mouthpiece (most real euphonium mouthpieces have a large shank or European As a first-year music major in college, I am still satisfied with it, and plan on switching mouthpieces whenever I buy a euphonium that has an alternative.

Schilke 51D is one of the best mouthpieces that I've used in a long time. It's comfortable on the lips, there's a solid weight to it, and the cup has an amazing depth. This mouthpiece is a great choice for a high school student or college student, and for the price that Amazon offers, it's a great deal.
