Yes, there is a zippered pocket on the outside of this trumpet case. A stack of eight can be stored in the pocket. It's a 5x11" piece of paper, just. To fit the zipper around the paper, it will need to bend slightly. It wouldn't be able to close tightly enough to hold a binder. It appears that the pocket was created for miscellaneous items rather than carrying music sheets.

This item has left me feeling very let down. Our son takes public transportation to school, so we needed a case that was both sturdy and light. The music store where he gets his lessons recommended this case to him. He only had the case for about a month when the fabric and stitching in one of the corners tore. I've attached a photo. br>br>UPDATED REVIEW FROM ONE STAR TO THREE STARS: As a replacement for the first one, I was given a new case. In this case, the customer service was excellent. With heavy use, the case lasted roughly a year. The cushioning inside the case had essentially flattened by that point. This case is suitable for occasional use but not for long-term storage.
It is both light and useful. Converts to a backpack, which is useful when you have a lot of things on your hands. Because this item is opened and closed frequently during normal use, my only concern is that the zippers will fail. They appear to be made of tough material, but only time will tell if they are. For the price, it's a fantastic buy, and my son absolutely adores it!.
