There are no labels on it, and it is plain white. Color is only present on the lid.
The tub is made of a hard, thick plastic. On the bottom, there are no other markings (such as a resin id to identify the type of plastic), only "Food Safe," "Dishwasher Safe," and "BPA Free." The lid is made of a flexible silicone material.
There are two pints in a quart, so yes, it should work.

The container is substantial in size and appears to be well-made. This, combined with my very cold freezer, keeps the ice cream cold and hard; however, the lid, which is supposed to be silicone and tight, does not seem to be particularly tight on mine, much like a loafer after a few uses. This could be due to the fact that I've placed a layer of Saran wrap on top of the container and underneath the lid. However, I believe it would be a tight situation. It doesn't "snap" in any way. If it comes into contact with something else in the freezer, it might come loose. This is probably only relevant for those who pack their refrigerators in such a way that the container must be placed on its side to fit. The top hasn't come off yet, there aren't any ice crystals, and I'll need to thaw it out a little to make scooping easier (e. g. , a 20-second microwave session, or more patience). So, while this may not be a significant issue, since a tight lid has been mentioned several times, I thought I'd add my two cents. I'm currently experimenting with the lids without the use of Saran wrap. If that changes anything, I'll let you know.
To me, this is a higher-quality ice cream container because of the silicone lid and thicker plastic.
This is a sturdy container that keeps my ice cream fresh and keeps it from getting freezer burnt. Much superior to a tupperware container made of plastic. Placing a sheet of plastic wrap beneath the lid is a good trick I discovered. This ensures a more secure seal and avoids freezer burns. One word of caution: because it is made of plastic, it is extremely slippery when placed on a granite counter top. It can slip and fly off the counter if you're not careful while scooping out the ice cream. My daughter laughed and accused me of being prone to accidents after it happened to me. She was getting ice cream two days later when it slipped and landed with a thud on the counter. There's a nick in it now, but it's not cracked or anything, and it still works fine. As a result, it is quite durable. I enjoyed it so much that I purchased a second one. BTW - My ice cream maker is a Cuisinart, and it doesn't hold enough ice for a batch. A standard custard ice cream recipe necessitates the use of 1 1/2 containers.
We were storing the ice cream in the container we used to make it, but it was too big for the freezer and took up too much room. We bought this container based on the product's reviews, and we're very pleased with it! I was able to pack the ice cream into the container, and for my own peace of mind, I wrapped a piece of plastic wrap around the ice cream before sealing it. Freezer burn is not an option! Three weeks have passed since the ice cream was placed in its container. You're probably wondering why homemade ice cream in my house lasts three weeks. Because I failed to inform them that I had switched containers! I got to eat all of the delicious chocolate chip ice cream on my own! Hey, it's not my fault if they're too lazy to look in the freezer. This ice cream tub was unquestionably a five-star purchase.
For years, I've been making LARGE ice "cubes" for my 1 gal. freezer using various containers. I bring a water jug to work with me. Every container I've tried may last a few weeks or even a month, but they all eventually crack as the ice expands and puts pressure on it. This has been extremely aggravating as well as expensive. I needed something that could withstand the pressure on a daily basis. It is made of a thick, durable material. I wish I had discovered these for $200 earlier.
We've been making our own ice cream lately, and these containers have come in handy for storing it! My recipe yields nearly two of these containers, which is ideal for two people to share. I'll admit that because it's super insulated, it takes a little longer to freeze after churning than a regular plastic container, but it stays colder for longer and is much more convenient to use. I would strongly advise!.
br>br>I love these ice cream tubs because they're the perfect size for a traditional ice cream recipe (3 cups liquid). However, if you use a lot of mixins, it might not all fit. The seal on the lid is excellent. I only notice crystals after the ice cream has been in the freezer for nearly a week, and even then, only on the lid (I'm not sure what happens after a week because ice cream in this house doesn't last that long!). The containers are solid and don't flex too much. I never put them in the dishwasher because I wash them by hand. Get a good grip when digging into hard ice cream, because these suckers can go flying, according to one review. I haven't yet misplaced one from the counter, but they are sturdy, so I'm not worried. br>br>I adore these and plan to purchase a few more. They come highly recommended!.
This container is ideal; it's critical to have the right size container for storing homemade ice cream. It must limit the amount of surface area exposed to air not only when it is first closed, but also throughout the ice cream's lifetime in the freezer. There's a reason ice cream containers in supermarkets are shaped the way they are, and it's evident in this product, which is well insulated and the right size for the job.
