Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
The Ice Pick with Safety Cover from HIC Kitchen easily chips and breaks up block ice for chilling a variety of drinks.
Make large ice chunks that will melt more slowly than ice chips or cubes and will not water down drinks as quickly.
The squared wooden handle is comfortable to hold and won't roll away when not in use; using an ice pick to chill and serve beverages adds flair.
It's ideal for breaking up block chocolate, and it also works well for punching holes in wood and leather.
Using a damp cloth, wipe down the surfaces.

Questions & Answers

Is it possible for a magnet to stick to the shaft? Is it genuine stainless steel or is it just a coating? It's only coated if a magnet adheres to it. ?

Magnetism is a powerful force. My understanding is that a magnet will stick to stainless steel (I have a portable induction cooktop that only works with stainless steel cookware, which can be tested by placing a magnet on the bottom of the pan). I hope this information is useful. The ice pick appears to be sturdy and rust-resistant.

What is the ice pick's length?

The total length of the piece is 7 1/2 inches. br>The length of the pick is four inches.

Where do these come from?

Despite the fact that it arrived in good condition, there was no indication of where it came from. That's something I wondered about but couldn't figure out. So far, I'm pleased with the quality, though I wasn't impressed with the provider's communication about shipment delays or overall customer service--it was sarcastic and I didn't appreciate it.

What are the ingredients in this dish?

Do you mean what materials were used to create this item? I have no idea because I'm not a manufacturer, but I'm guessing the metal point idea is made of. It doesn't matter to me if the handle is made of steel or if the handle is made of some kind of wood product as long as it chips through ice and makes holes in the straps of my sandals when heated. I apologize for not being able to assist you more. Best wishes to you.

It will chip and rust, so don't use it if you're going to use it frequently or with a lot of force
3/5

The plating started to chip off starting at the tip and broke up the frozen block of ice in my freezer perfectly, saving me a lot of time and preventing wasted water and ice. Every time I try to use it, I see bits of nickel plating in my ice. Because the tip has begun to rust, I intend to discard it and replace it with a new ice pick. It was a shame because it worked well and had a nice little cover.

Metal fragments that are extremely dangerous
3/5

It's been about two months since I bought this ice pick on January 8, 2019. The pick's chrome coating is peeling away in small shards. We used it to break apart small ice nuggets for drinks and noticed small metal fragments in the bottom of our glasses. The issue was discovered when I examined the pick. I hope no one has eaten the metal; I guess we'll find out if anyone's intestines have been cut. Anyone else buying this ice pick, in my opinion, is taking a very dangerous risk.

WARNING TO CUSTOMERS - HAZARD TO ONE'S HEALTH
3/5

WARNING TO CUSTOMERS! br>br>Looks good, and it worked fine until I discovered small metal fragments (!). A closer look at the ice pick revealed that the silver coating had chipped off (as seen in the photos). I have no idea what the metal coating is or if swallowing it is harmful to one's health, but this product is CHEAP, and the many positive reviews that led me to purchase it were deceiving.

Ice Pick Looks Great, But Sheath Doesn't Fit - The metallic coating has started to flake off
3/5

The 18th of July, 2020, is the deadline for submitting a review. After a year of using this ice pick, I noticed silver flakes in my drink. I'm glad I saw them because I would have ingested them if I hadn't seen them first (which I may have done in previous drinks). I looked in the ice cube container and discovered some ice chunks that had the same silver flakes embedded in them. When I examined the ice pick, I noticed that it was missing its silver coating (see last photo). I'm not sure what this ice pick is made of, and I'm not sure what most ice picks are made of, but I didn't expect something so basic to last only a year. My main concern prior to this was - with the exception of the ill-fitting sleeve - The pick's point had become dulled as a result. Nope; The pick's point is fine; the problem is with the metal's coating. I will not buy this brand again, and I cannot recommend this product in good conscience; I have also changed the rating to one star. Original Review: br>br>Original Review: br>br>Original Review: br>br>O br>This has a great look and feel to it. The sheath, however, did not fit the pick, which was a disappointment. The sheath that covers the metal pick and connects it to the handle isn't quite right. The sheath cannot be screwed to the handle because there are no threads. I suppose the friction was supposed to keep it in place. The sheath will fall off if you put it on and then lift the ice pick by the handle. It's such a pity. So you already know what will happen if you put this in a drawer with other utensils. The sheath on the ice pick will be knocked off over time as you use other utensils. The sheath will fall off if you pick up the ice pick by the sheath, and the ice pick will fall free if you pick it up by the sheath. I've read that the metal portion of the ice pick flakes off in other reviews. Although I have not yet encountered this issue, I will keep an eye out for it. I'm not going to go through the trouble of returning it because it was less than $6.

It's being shredded by cute but low-quality silver
3/5

This 17th of September, 2021, was the date on which the order was placed. It was delivered to me on September 18, 2021. For my 95-year-old mother, I created ice blocks. I used this ice pick to chop some up and put it in her cup. I noticed shards of silver in the bottom of her cup when I went to refill it with water. I'm hoping she didn't take any of the paint with her. My ice pick was the only silver item I had. When I looked at the ice pick, I noticed that the silver paint was chipping. This was only used to chop ice, which it didn't do very well. This one was purchased to replace one that had been in my possession for more than 30 years. I had to replace the tip after it finally broke. Buyer beware: I don't chop ice every day, so this ice pick hasn't seen much use. I think I used it maybe five times. It's been less than two months, and this pick still doesn't puncture the ice as easily as it should, not to mention the silver paint shards.

This is the option for you if you enjoy nickel plating flakes in your ice
3/5

Ice picks were purchased to be used on a regular basis. I purchase ice in bags, transport it home, and then place it in the freezer. When it comes time to use the ice, some of it will have melted during transportation and will have frozen once in the freezer. As a result, I break up ice for drinks with an ice pick several times per week. This ice pick has been in my possession for about four years. I thought I was getting a stainless steel pick when I bought it, but the nickel plating is peeling off and leaving flakes of nickel plating in the ice after 6 weeks. I'm stuck with an ice pick that I can't use because the return period on it has expired. This is a pick I would never buy again.

I would never recommend this product or buy it again
3/5

This was purchased for my husband, who insists on having ice in his drinks at all times. It was nice at first, but after a few days of use, we noticed that our ice had flakes of "silver" in it. There aren't just one or two of them. It was all over the ice, and it was a waste of money; if you don't want to be picking small pieces out of your ice, don't buy it.

The first time an ice pick was inserted, the case/cover broke
3/5

The safety feature of the protective case drew me to this ice pick. The ice pick is in good working order, but the case is a different story. Because the two pieces were packaged next to each other, the first thing I did when I opened the package was place the pick into the wooden case. It split in half almost instantly. For the time being, it is still usable, but I am concerned that the split will widen over time, rendering the case completely useless.
