Questions & Answers

What kind of capunti can you make with this one?

Gnocchi boards usually have grooves, so your capunti will have grooves as well. It depends on your preferences whether your capuntis are wider than the gnocchi board. Some people prefer your capunti wider than this gnocchi board. It is common for people to make the capunti dough, then cut it to their desired size, and then use a straight edge knife to roll out the dough to form the crease inside. Or they will pinch the dough and drag it out a half inch to achieve the same effect.

According to the description, it measures 8" x 4". Do you really think it's 4 inches ?

There are two and a half inches in width. There are actually four and a half inches in length to the board. To the end of the handle, it is 8 inches long

The wood that this is made from, what kind is it? Is it hard?

There is no rhyme or reason to the name of the wood, but it is durable, even though I think it's softer than hardwood. It is the same board that I've used at least ten times before to make gnocchi. My bag has been with me for quite a while.

Do you know of anyone who has used these for forming ?

have not used this gnocchi board for slicing home-made butter, but from the looks of it I think it may be a bit too thick and that the grooves may be too small. I have used butter paddles in the past that are thinner, rounded on the edges, and have wide-set, shallow grooves. According to Fantes, they do make and sell butter paddles. However, I can't find them on Amazon for sale right now.

The best place to get gnocchi is Our mistakes are lessons we can learn from
5/5

Gnocchi has always been a favorite of ours. The secret to this meal remains an enigma to us, yet it is something that will always remain a special memory - a special Italian restaurant meal that we've never considered Recent night out with lobster, shrimp, peas, and a tomato cream sauce made gnocchi a whole new experience. This simple video was stumbled upon by my wife, who searched for "gnocchi making". Thankfully, we now have a very compact Fantes board, so using the module in a cabinet should not be a problem. A TEXTURE OF In the past, we've learned not to keep the pasta too wet or the pasta A bit of practice and moist, but not too moist dough will make this happen! As the name suggests, this is a light dumpling made of potato, and you will want to practice until the texture is smooth, soft, and silky. WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE IF WE USE AN OLD TYPE? I'm not sure. Yukon Gold has a high reputation among I love it. Cook them in the oven. The process of boiling results in moisture issues and a host of problems. WHAT TYPE OF FLOUR ARE YOU USING? The results we are getting with King Arthur all purpose are good. Do not overload your system with too many photos. CLEANUP IS IT REALLY A PAIN IN THE GNOCKI?
Cleaning up isn't difficult, but a bit of time will be required to scrape through the grooves that still have some dough in.

You need just the right amount of pasta
5/5

In the event that the pasta is too wet, it will stick to the board and you will have trouble cleaning it away. Take your time if that's your first time racing. Speed will come with time.

I really like the way it works
5/5

It does exactly what it says on the box. It is not clear what the significance of 4 is for this product. It's an ancient Italian culinary tool that has existed for hundreds of years that you must have if you have any intention of making gnocchi that look really great! The tool consists of a small piece of wood with grooves and works well every time. You don't have to put it in the washing machine, but you should wash it with soapy water and I use a little kitchen hand brush with natural bristles to clean it. There are a few people who gave it less than 5 stars but I'm not sure what they were looking for. If you wanted an automatic gnocchi machine, it would cost The year is 95? Anyone who is interested in cooking or who aspires to be a chef will love this book! That's the one I have!.

Make your own gnocchi - new to this According to what I expected, it did what it was supposed First of all, I agree with other reviewers regarding the importance of the consistency of the dough I made too much water in the first batch of gnocchi
5/5

This made a big mess on the board because it stuck to it. After my 2nd attempt, I changed the recipe so that the potatoes were baked instead of boiled. An improvement of this magnitude. The gnocchi rolled well and the dough was much better. What the board does is what it should There is no bulletproof material or steel that is stronger than it. A wooden board with ridges, a handle, and a base is used. The gnocchi you get will be nicely ridged if you roll the dough down the board fairly firm. As far as I can tell, the handle is Rolling the dough pieces along the board was no problem as long as the board was held in a comfortable position. Getting the board was very simple and I believe it will produce lots of tasty gnocchi for many years to come. You might want to give it a shot. Having done so, you will definitely be pleased with yourself.

I do not like how close the grooves are This board works fine, but I prefer the deeper grooves that are formed when you roll the gnocchis on a fork, instead
3/5

You want to make more nooks and crannies for the sauce to be held in with the fork or board. The plate was like running them along a fork with 10 tines. I liked it better if they were further apart. I'm only saying what one guy says.

The packaging is small enough to be easily stored
5/5

In the beginning, we made homemade gnocchi without any gnocchi boards or potato ricers. After discovering that homemade gnocchi is easy and delicious, I decided to invest in The gnocchi board is phenomenal and I highly recommend it. (I was wary of this part) It is easy to hold and easy to clean (not too hard to clean at all). Cleaning between the grooves was a simple task that I performed with a kitchen brush. You should not put this in the dishwasher since it is made of wood. Despite its compact size, it can easily be stored - It is the perfect size for In making gnocchi last night, I followed an easy recipe for ricotta gnocchi. I cut the pieces of dough, cut them into pieces and rolled them into ropes after mixing the dough and cutting it into pieces about one inch wide. By pressing down with my thumb, I placed one on the board and rolled it Although I anticipated that it would take me a long time to roll all the gnocchi on the board, it was really simple. I actually had my 9 year old help with about half of the rolls. We had fresh gnocchi in less than an hour and it was ready for us when we sat at the table!.

The perfect table for pasta and wobbly chairs
5/5

The product was purchased for my wife, who will make homemade gnocchi out of it. I was amazed at how well it worked and how well it made things - You can make perfect sized Our family devoured the final product and she was very happy with the results. I had to replace it because one of my hoodlum kids used it to prop up the wobbly table in his basement study. The next time my wife makes gnocchi will be a long time from now.

The little bit of wood I own I love
5/5

It is the 78th year of my life Having made Cavatelli for years, I'm familiar with the recipe Love them just the way they are. I learned to roll out a ball of dough from my thumb to the floured board in a forward motion. Then, after they have all been rolled out into little cavatelli, I took a fork and cut little grooves to allow the sauce to adhere better. In the case you are familiar with what I described, you will understand It's a great little board, I can tell you that. The time it took me to make these little jewels was half (less than half). They did have to be floured a bit in order to keep As soon as they began to stick, I would just take them to the sink and let them dry I used a veggie brush to clean it Make the dough a bit more thin by adding more flour After that, I went off Except for a cavatelli machine, there's no way that you can do it Although less work, it will still be a labor of love This results in less labor being required The more love you have.
