Yes, you have to hold the shape for a few seconds until the batter cools a little so it doesn't seep out the side with pancakes; eggs are a little more difficult because they are so runny, but it can be done; just try to hold the shape for a few seconds while it cooks.

The plastic coverings can be removed to reveal the metal cutters. These should work if you bake them with cookie cutters; I haven't tried it yet.

I bought these to aid in my toddler's lack of appetite. This set appeared to have the most variety and quantity of cutters for the money; I like that it included so many different ones, though it's difficult to tell what a few are. The large ones were perfect for cutting cucumber slices out of the bread we use for sandwiches, while the small ones were perfect for cutting out cucumber slices. The food gets stuck in the medium and small ones, and you have to use your finger to push it out. That's to be expected, but it's not easy to get your finger back through a tiny cutter. I believe the colored tops are simply on the metal and are not held together by anything. When I needed to take it off so I could get my finger into the tiny dinosaur and push the food back out, this came in handy. As my children grow older, I'm sure they'll get more use out of them, and they'll also serve as cookie cutters. Unfortunately, it is no longer assisting my toddler in developing a positive attitude toward food. The large and medium sizes are stackable for storage. All of the others, on the other hand, are lost in our drawer. Overall, I'm pleased with them, and I'm hoping that one day, my daughter will consider her food to be adorable as well.
These are acceptable. They are sturdy, but the size of the shape is incorrect. The larger ones are too large to be eaten with bread. I've tried a variety of bread brands, and they're simply too large for any type of bread! Make them look more like giant cookie cutters than bread cutters. The small ones are also too small; getting things out of them is difficult due to their size. They are durable, but I wish I had purchased a different brand; I do not recommend them.
I usually can't get him to eat all of his food, much less the majority of it, because he becomes bored and wants to play. Not only does he laugh every time I use these, but he eats almost all of them as well! Dinosaurs and Mickey Mouse are two of his favorites. br>Because he's almost two, I still have to chop his food into small bite-size pieces for him, so this helps a lot there as well. I'm looking forward to using the larger shapes once he's a little older. They'll be fantastic for making sugar cookies and for decorating cakes! That's something I'm really looking forward to doing.
I used all three dinosaur sizes (very large, medium, and super tiny) on a piece of toast and a scrambled egg (the super tiny one was a little difficult to do on the scrambled egg, but I got one YAY!). They were a hit with my son! Breakfast was so much more enjoyable as a result of it!.
I really like how durable it is and how simple it is to clean. For the kids' lunches, we use THICK bread (think whole wheat with seeds) and plastic cookie cutters. They simply do not (pun intended) cut it. These are great for cutting through even the thickest sandwiches, and I can just throw them in the dishwasher when I'm done with them. a hundred percent recommendation.
For regular-sized bread, the large cutters are too big. These were purchased solely for the purpose of making sandwiches. It's a setback. I'm going to keep them, but it's causing me a lot of grief.
