Yes. I've tried it on a variety of plate sizes, including 6-inch and 12-inch plates. 1/2" is the tiniest, but it could probably hold a little more than a tenth of an inch. 1/2" plates will fit, but 12" plates will not.

They used to hang on spring hangers in the old house. Because of the springs, the plates rang like bells. The plates aren't ringing any more. I used 100-pound drywall toggles to secure the hangers. Very safe and quiet!.
This triple plate holder is extremely well-made and extremely durable. Mounting it on the wall was a breeze. The only drawback is that the screws that come with the rack do not match the rack's color. Also, rubberized covers for the hooks holding the plates would have been helpful in ensuring that the plates do not shift in the event of doors closing, minor earth tremors, accidentally bumping into the rack, etc. br>br>I thought it was a little pricey, but the sturdiness of the rack is as advertised and, I suppose, worth the price.
Instead of plates, I used it to hold three framed photographs. Hanging it on my wall looks fantastic.
I've been on the lookout for a wrought-iron table. For well over a year, I've been using an iron 3 plate holder. I was ecstatic when I finally found it on Amazon. It's well-made and simple to hang on the wall. My plates have a hole for hanging wire, and my husband made the holder with three thin horizontal wires. After that, he threaded a wire through the plate holes and secured the plates to the horizontal wires to keep them from falling out. Before I bought it, I read the reviews. A similar item was available for half the price, but the reviews were not favorable. This item delivered on its promises. Spending a little more on quality was well worth it to me.
At an angle, the plates sit comfortably and loosely.
These plate racks are extremely attractive, easy to hang, and durable!.
This was purchased for my daughter after she misplaced her previous holder. The plates fit perfectly, despite the fact that it is a little long.
