The product has been in use for two weeks
4/5

This microwave has met all of my expectations thus far, but it has only been two weeks. br>br>After reading countless reviews on various microwave oven brands available on the market. Because I found far too many negative reviews, I was left with mixed feelings and grave concerns about the quality of ovens made by every manufacturer on the market today. But when my old microwave died, I needed a replacement, and today no kitchen is complete without one. With so many unhappy customers in every brand, I had a difficult time deciding, which was surprising given that my old microwave had served me faithfully for over fifteen years. br>br>I chose this Toshiba because of its features, size, and price, but it's still new and I haven't thoroughly tested it. So far, I'm pleased, and I've used my microwave popcorn maker to make popcorn, and I was surprised when the oven decided that 3 minutes was long enough, when the same amount in my old oven (1100 W) took 5 minutes and left about the same amount unpopped. br>br>Next, I put the Toshiba's sensor to the test with a cup of tea water. I'm extremely happy. The oven proved how smart it is when the readout detected that I was heating water and set the timer for 30 seconds, which was perfect, as my old oven had taken a minute and then took longer and longer until it died, taking a full 90 seconds. Toshiba made use of its smart sensors, which was fantastic. br>br>I then used its smart sensor to reheat vegetables straight from a cold fridge, and they were perfectly heated without losing their appearance. It was as simple as putting it in and pressing the On button; there was no need to guess how long it would take to reheat perfectly. I didn't have to read or deceive complicated instructions because this is so simple. br>br>Now, I must admit that I haven't cooked complicated meals in the past and have no plans to do so in the future, especially when it takes a degree in microwave manual reading to figure out how to push all the buttons in the correct order. Reheats, frozen meals, popcorn, and softening butter have been my mainstays, and I've been relying on guesswork rather than mastering manual reading. I'd rather spend my time learning about new recipes and trying them out. Cooking is something I enjoy very much. So I was relieved to find that the instructions for this Toshiba microwave were well-written, well-organized, and brief but precise. So I read it all, and they're now sitting next to the oven, ready for when I need to learn new options. I'll probably have to learn how to use all of the bells and whistles that come with this oven, such as melting vs. softening butter and chocolates, which I'll be doing with my backing. br>br>I kept the box because I read several reviews where the oven broke down in a short period of time and the box was required for a return. There were far too many negative reviews from disgruntled customers about ovens that didn't make it past the thirty-day return period, and this worries me. I'm too old to lift heavy ovens up and down from counters, and they don't feel as light as they did when I was younger, so I'm hoping I won't need this box, which is already in the way. br>br>This oven is larger than my old one, despite the fact that it is smaller than most ovens on the market. Before purchasing, I double-checked the size, and this one is smaller than most. I also double-checked that the cord would reach the receptacle exactly where it was supposed to, as some customers complained about the length. br>br>The one last thing I considered was oven failure with warranties that were either too short, didn't cover everything, or weren't honored by the manufacturer, as so many reviews stated. The runaround the customer had to endure trying to get the warranty honored was one issue I came across several times in these reviews. Over the course of my life, I've learned that purchasing an additional warranty is worthwhile; simply consider the cost of a replacement and how much trouble warranty repairs are willing to cause, such as having to drive my microwave to a repair shop miles away only to discover they no longer service this manufacturer or model. Also, make sure to read the fine print of the extended warranty you're purchasing. Based on the numerous reviews I've read, and the fact that so many microwaves fail within the short and limited warranty that comes with it, as well as the above-mentioned inconveniences that a repair can cause, I purchased the extended warranty through Amazon. br>br>I'll be experimenting with my new smart microwave, putting its 'brain' to the test, and I'll keep you updated on my findings. Overall, I like the Toshiba microwave so far and plan to use it to its full potential. Hopefully, I will be able to enjoy my new microwave for many years without experiencing any problems, and I will not require the warranty. That's how I'm hoping things will turn out. After I've had some time to get to know my smart new microwave, I'll post an update.

Advertising that is deceptive
3/5

The advertisement claimed that the keypad had LED lighting, but this is false. br>The clock is the only part of the keypad that is illuminated. br>In fact, the clarity of this new Toshiba keypad is WORSE than that of my Emerson MW oven's keypad, which is 9 years old! br>The representative I spoke with said that, due to the product's obvious misrepresentation, she would escalate the situation so that I could get a refund while keeping the unit. br>The "memory" feature is not available. existent. When I put a cup of water in the unit, it never comes to a halt where I put it! br>Either this Toshiba product is defective, or Amazon has grossly exaggerated this unit's capabilities! br>Amazon agents informed me that I would be eligible for a refund and that they would contact me today to discuss the details. So far, no contact has been made! This product was clearly misrepresented!.

It's a fantastic microwave, and it's a fantastic microwave for the money
5/5

It's simple to operate and maintain. It'll start microwaving as soon as you push a button. It provides a lot of value for the money because it is not overly expensive and has a very clean appearance. It's also very quiet, so it won't bother anyone else while it's being used.

Cooking that is very consistent
5/5

The way the magnetron sprays microwaves through the food in this new Toshiba microwave has changed in some way. This microwave heats up quickly and, perhaps more importantly, evenly. We're not sure what they did, but we're pleased with the size of the unit, the speed with which it cooks, and the consistency with which it cooks. Happy!.

It's flaking because the coating on it
4/5

The microwave appears to be in good working order, though the numbers are difficult to read, as others have pointed out. But the main issue I have is that the transparent coating on a couple of the numbers is flaking off! I've had three microwaves in nearly three decades, and I've never had that problem. br>This microwave is only a few weeks old, and I am pleased with it except for that one major flaw.

This microwave is a fantastic addition to my collection of appliances
5/5

I primarily use it for microwaving and find it to be extremely useful. It's larger than the one we had, which is a plus, and the noise level is moderate but effective. That is something I value. There are many functions, such as pizza, potatoes, dinner, and so on. It is not a problem for us to work on it. My husband's favorite feature is the popcorn function, which also looks great in my kitchen. It is something that we all enjoy.
