Questions & Answers

What is the purpose of the stay-on option?

This is an extremely hazardous "feature." "It's only a few seconds past the timer's "off" setting, and it's very simple to change it from off to constant on. To put it another way, you timed a cook for 20 minutes, then realized it was ready in 15 minutes and turned off the timer. It's incredibly simple to go from off to always on. br>From left to right, turn the dial:

Is the heat source beneath the cooktop? When cheese drips onto the element in the oven I have now, it burns, which is undesirable. ?

The two uncovered elements are, in fact, directly beneath the cook rack. However, I wrap the included baking sheet in foil and place it on its own rack beneath the wire rack, catching all drips while still allowing my toast to crisp up (I make little french bread pizzas). It's much better than my previous toaster, which had small metal covers over the elements where the cheese would burn.

When the handle is in the open position, how much space does it require? Making use of the space beneath the cabinet ?

The front edge of our top cabinets has a molding, which the handle just misses. It's a 14-inch molding. 1/16" from the edge of the counter The actual cabinet, however, has a recessed bottom. There's plenty of room for the handle because it's 7/8" in diameter. I hope this has been of assistance. This toaster oven is nice, but the toasting temperature dial is difficult to turn and leaves little room for error. Aside from that, everything is fine.

Is it possible to change the billing address?

Sure

The glass exploded in a very dangerous manner
3/5

Neither Hamilton nor the seller have responded. On March 5th, I purchased a product. I think I used it four times before the glass exploded today, which was a huge disappointment. Nothing came back from Hamilton Beach when I called. I was told to leave a message after being on hold for 4 hours. Finally, the faulty product was discarded. You should also have proof in the form of photos. There will be no more.

Beware of the exploding glass! The glass door exploded while baking at 425 degrees for less than 15 minutes
3/5

We've had it for about 6 weeks, so we're past the return window. A shard of glass shattered and grazed my brow. This product has left me very disappointed.

It's a good idea to have a door that is both functional and attractive
3/5

A good idea alone isn't enough to solve a problem. This item is made for a very low price. The exterior quickly heats up, posing a fire risk.

Update **** SECOND UPDATE
3/5

Doesn't toast, but it dries. The lift-up door is fantastic! It's attractive and reasonably priced, but it's first and foremost a TOASTER oven that doesn't toast; the toaster temperature is controlled by the oven setting, which has a maximum temperature of 450 degrees. The elements turn off and go dark, cycling on and off, just as the toast starts to get warm and toasty. The bread is only dried out as a result of this. White bread dries out and turns white. br>br>Update 5/30/2019 So, here's the conclusion to this saga. I contacted Hamilton Beach, who offered to replace the oven as part of their warranty. Because the replacement would take two weeks to arrive, I decided to order a new one on Amazon while I waited, with the intention of installing it in my motorhome. What were the chances that the next one would fail? about 100%, to be precise. Two days later, Amazon Prime delivered the new oven. I returned it because it only heated up to 325°F. The warranty replacement for the first arrived from Hamilton Beach a few days later. Viola! It functions, and I must say, it functions admirably! East up the lid and toast evenly, and the oven heats to the desired temperature! Whew. br>br>If you're willing to take a chance, it only took me three tries to get a working oven. It's possible that you'll do better. There are also a couple of other models that are similar to this one but have slightly different knobs and handles that you could try instead. BUT WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WA The same issue arose only a few weeks after the "working" oven was put to use. To be sure, I used a mechanical oven thermometer and an infrared temperature gun to confirm the oven's temperature. The maximum temperature in the oven has been reduced to 400 degrees from 450 degrees. So it's light toast and stale bread for the time being. I've had enough of this. Because of the poor quality, the rating has been reduced to one star. This incident has made me reluctant to use any Hamilton Beach products in the future.

THE BEST TOASTER OVEN WE HAVE EVER HAD! The roll-up door is one of our favorites
5/5

Because it's out of the way for pulling food out onto a nearby plate, I've decided to open the door. It's a little larger than our previous toaster oven, but it still fits on our kitchen counter nicely. And once you figure out where to set the timer knob for your desired "darkness," the oven makes fantastic toast. The back of the oven has a post that creates a defined air space between the hot back surface and the wall. The power cord exits the back of the unit at the bottom, making it easy to keep it from coming into contact with anything hot. Other reviewers have mentioned that the outside surfaces get quite hot, but we haven't found this to be an issue. There is only one flaw: The internal fan makes a rattling noise while in Convection mode (fan blade touching nearby sheet metal), which lasts until the oven heats up. After that, there's silence. Surely, before shipping to customers, this could be corrected in the factory! THE PERFECT TOASTER OVEN would then be created.

I'm not convinced
3/5

So, when this oven arrived, I eagerly opened the box, unwrapped the accessories and washed them, sat and read the manual, and ran the Anti-Static test. Pre-stink br>br>So, after checking the heating requirement and setting the oven accordingly, I was soon baking a french bread pizza on the baking pan (it said to use the rack, but my mind set was along the lines of, pizza with cheese, above exposed heating elements). br>br>So, after checking the heating requirement and setting the oven accordingly, I was soon baking a french bread pizza on the baking pan (it said to use the rack, but my mind set was along the lines of, pizza with cheese Extremely hot electrical elements + oily foodstuff melting and dripping = fire. br>br>Anyway, a resounding POP! I went into the kitchen and peered into the oven because I had heard something. The sides of the baking pan appeared to have been grabbed and twisted by someone very strong. br>br>1 Star, because even in today's throw-away culture, there is still a place for it. I don't anticipate having to replace accessories after less than half an hour of use in today's society. br>br>Yes, Hamilton Beach, I'm referring to you. You have the option of selecting which category you belong to. You're one of two people: A) You're negligent for not subjecting the accessories' materials to a sufficient heating stress test, or B) You're incompetent for knowing it's not heat rated high enough but still supplying it. br>br>However, I did make a decent pizza.

In comparison to previous models, this model toasts faster
5/5

On Veterans Day, the oven arrived, replacing an older HB model that had been in our possession for several years. I immediately ran a slice of toast through the machine to make sure it was in good working order. I'm impressed by the toaster's speed - In comparison to our previous oven, this one is a true speedster. The only oddity is the instruction booklet, which states that the oven should be unplugged after each use. Huh? Unplug an air conditioner? I'm guessing that was written by lawyers rather than engineers. Anyway, that's all I've got to say on the subject. I'm looking forward to a long service life and easier cleanup.

Obsessed with it and able to use it in a variety of ways! I'm writing this from my husband's profile, so bear with me: br>br>OK, so my husband was adamant about not purchasing a toaster oven
5/5

He thought it was ridiculous and claimed that a toaster could do the same thing, but I went ahead and bought it anyway because I prefer toaster ovens. He's been doing it for a few weeks now and he's really enjoying it. He uses it to bake cookies, toast, and bagels, as well as cook a pizza. This toaster oven is absolutely fantastic. The door is, without a doubt, my favorite feature. It swings up and down, and it's fantastic. Cleaning is a breeze, and I appreciate that it includes a baking dish as well as a crumb catcher tray. As an electrician, my grandfather recommended it because electronics and heat don't mix, and this one isn't digital. This one has been with my parents for almost a year and it has served them well, and we enjoy it as well!.
