Questions & Answers

Is teflon used in this pot?

I'm guessing you're talking about the Teflon non-stick issue. Coat the inside of the pot with a stick coating. There is no such thing as a non-profit organization. This product does not have any kind of nonstick coating, and the inner pot is made of 304 stainless steel, which is a food-safe material. material that is not dangerous

What is the IP's ability to make fork-shaped objects? tender, prone to falling off- the- country with a lot of moisture- Boneless barbecue ribs in the style of?

I haven't tried boneless ribs yet, but I have done pork butt roast and chuck roast, both of which came out tender and moist. Place the meat directly on the bottom of the pot, rather than on a steamer trivet. I cooked a 3 pound chuck roast for 45 minutes at high pressure, then let it naturally release. I cooked a 5 pound pork butt roast for an hour on high, then added quartered potatoes for another 8 minutes on low. The roast and the potatoes were both tender, flavorful, and just right.

What's the difference between a 6 quart and an 8 quart?

What are the differences between a 6 qt and an 8 qt? Although there are only two of us, I will occasionally cook for four people. 6 people. Also, make soups and stews so there will be leftovers. However, because I have a small kitchen and limited space, I'm debating.

What are the differences between the Plus and Ultra versions of the game?

You can look up the differences in a variety of places. I've owned both, and the ultra is probably the one to get if you're a fancy cook, even if you're just a fancy home cook. If you prefer things to be simple, choose the plus because it is simpler to use and accomplishes the same tasks. Another benefit of the duo is that the handles have holes in them, allowing you to place the lid in one of the holes instead of having to place it on the counter. This isn't available on the ultra, which I found annoying.

Yes, you are correct
5/5

It allows you to do a lot of things quickly and easily. And a variety of foods in a short period of time. Update 3. After 5 years, here are the results. It's still one of my favorites; I use it all the time and have never had any issues with it. br>br>I was a skeptic for a long time. I mean, I'm a big fan of kitchen electronics. I have a traditional slow cooker that I use when I want to cook something for hours until it's tasty and tender. If I want to feel fancy while I'm perfecting my preparations- I have my Anova sous vide, as well as a wireless meat thermometer for the grill, for cooked meats. Friends and family, on the other hand, were always saying, "Oh, but you've got to get an Instant Pot!" "But no, I didn't have to buy an Instant Pot. " However, there was a sale eventually, and I purchased one. I had no idea what the differences between the sizes and models were at the time. I bought this 8-quart Duo Plus because it was a daily deal. It was a good price, and it makes like 2 gallons of yogurt or porridge or something, so it's worth it. great. whatever. I'll be the first to admit that the sheer size of the thing caught me off guard. My wife and I, along with our two-year-old son, were the only ones in the house at the time. year- daughter, who is twelve years old When I first opened the box, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it contained an 8-piece set. I was nervous about using the quart monstrosity because I was afraid of ridicule from my wife, who would point out that we didn't need such a ridiculously large pressure cooker for just the two of us. But I overcame my fear and got down to business. br>br>The first time each of us used it, we experienced what I'm sure every other first-time pressure cooker user experiences: the paralyzing fear that you're about to die in a horrifying high-pressure situation. pressure home explosion, and your family will be embarrassed to admit that they are related to one of _those_ statistics. But, as I'm sure most pressure cooker owners can attest, we made it through. br>br>And it didn't take long for us (especially my wife, who does most of the cooking) to realize how incredible this massive culinary autoclave is. Make a roast chicken and red bean dinner for the whole family. rice all at once? Done. When some friends show up for dinner with their slew of kids, why not steam a whole mess of vegetables? Easy. Meatballs, to be precise. Tamales. Artichokes are a type of vegetable that grows in abundance in the Mediterranean Corn on the cob is a type of corn that is harvested from the cob. Everything was done quickly and, perhaps most importantly, in a straightforward manner. And at the end of it all, there's only one pot to scrub! Then store it in the pantry until you need it again. br>br>Last night, I believe I reached the pinnacle of giant Instant Pot adoration. BBQ pork back ribs were cooked in two racks. I considered simply bringing the meat to my father's house and allowing him to smoke it. But that would have taken at least 10 hours! When there's football to watch and naps to take, who has that kind of time? Do you want to know how long it took me to make this Instant Pot meal? At 6 p. m. , we wished to dine. At 5 a. m. , I took the plunge and started the process.
- It took me five minutes to unwrap and rub the meat before stuffing it into my countertop sauna. I'll defer to you in terms of visualization.
- As the Instant Pot reached cooking pressure, it took about twenty minutes.

In less than an hour, you can have delicious, perfectly cooked barbecue ribs for at least eight people. So, yeah. br>br> I'm a big supporter. And, despite the fact that it's absurdly large when we're only cooking for ourselves, I'm glad I got the 8-quart monster after all. I haven't even looked into all of the fancy other options and space-saving solutions. It has the ability to do a variety of things as it gets older. However, I intend to do so. Even if it's just to prove to myself that I'm capable. Thank you so much, Instant Pot!.

Junk
3/5

Customer service is non-existent, and the product is a complete waste of time. It worked for a while and then gave me error messages when I tried to start it up again. There is no product support; they are so far behind that all of the voice mail message boxes are full, and you can't even leave a message requesting help. What a blunder.

It's a sham
3/5

This product is a complete waste of money. It stopped working as soon as the 30-day no-return period expired, which I was unaware of. I came across an Instant Pot website and contacted them for assistance, but received no response. Because it stopped working just before the busy holiday season, I had no idea there was a 30-day policy for returning it. It's impossible for me to believe. I just paid $119 to throw something in the trash. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT BECAUSE AMAZON DOESN'T BACK IT UP.

This is good for six months

Bought on June 23, it worked perfectly until today. Turned on without a hitch, closed the lid, made its cool noise, then shut down and refused to turn back on.

I'm extremely disappointed
3/5

This product performed admirably at first. The lid, however, began to malfunction after a few months. The pressure value wasn't floating up correctly any longer. As a result, the pressure cooking feature was rendered useless, and my food began to leave a burnt residue on the pot's bottom. br>I contacted the Instant Pot customer service department twelve days ago and have yet to receive a response or a solution to this issue. br>br>It appears to me that the Instant Pot should last longer than three months and continue to function well.

Why did I decide to purchase the Instant Pot IP- DUO Plus60 9-in-1 DUO Plus60 DUO Plus60 DU 1 Multi- 6 Qt
5/5

Pressure Cooker with Multiple Functions IP - Instant Pot DUO Plus60 9-in-1 DUO Plus60 DUO Plus60 DU 1 Multi- 6 Qt. Functional Pressure Cooker - I've been looking for a PC for quite some time and have done quite a bit of research. I was considering the PPCXL because that's what my cousin has, but after doing some more research, I decided on this one instead, waiting for the Duo Plus to be released. So, since I'm the fourth reviewer, here's some of the thought process I went through in deciding to get the DUO Plus, as well as some thoughts on the IP vs. the PPCXL, and other accessories, size, and other considerations. I've only had it for a few days, but so far I'm happy with it, and there's plenty of online support for recipes and assisting you in choosing the best post PC for your needs. br>br>**Why did I choose the Instant Pot duo60 Plus - br>Three new preset buttons have been added - It also had the yogurt function, which other IPs don't have, but some of the other makes do. br>Large LCD Screen with Digital Displaybr>Mute button for those late-night beeps when making yogurt, etc. br>Plus / Minus button for both time and pressurebr>Keep Warm Selector can be turned on or off at any time. br>Delay start of 24 hours and keep warm for 10 hours. br>Lid rest (right or left side)br>br>**Why I chose IP over PPCXL - Stainless steel pot with a teflon coating vs. food grade 304 (15/8) stainless steel pot I felt free to scrub and treat the pot however I wanted without fear of scratching it or using the wrong utensils. Yes, a replacement inner pot for a Teflon pot can be purchased, but after spending $100, I don't believe I should be required to do so. Some people in the FB group seem to like the Teflon pot, but there are also a lot of complaints. It could be the way it's handled, but every Teflon pan I've ever owned has eventually had the coating peel off. br>IP came with some of the PPCXL's optional accessories. There was a trivet with handles, a condensation collector, and a Rice Paddle in it. spoon, as well as a couple of beginner's guides/cookbooks IP is entitled to free shipping. The PPCXL website demanded $29. 99br>On the PPCXL site, the buttons were a little unclear, which led me to believe they were concealing a lack of preset button options. Furthermore, it was unclear as to what you were purchasing - PPC or PPCXL, depending on your needs. When you go to select your items for your shopping cart, a lot of their verbiage refers to PPCXL, but not always. br>Yogurt Button - This is something that the IP has, but the PPCXL does not. The IP allows you to heat the milk to 185 degrees Fahrenheit, cool to 120 degrees Fahrenheit (I'll use the quick cool method in the sink), and then incubate the milk (8 hours). (12 hrs. ). This is not available on the PPCXL, so you must wrap it and bake it. br>The IP comes with a one-year warranty, but I paid an extra $14 for a four-year Square Trade Warranty. There are no deductibles, hidden fees, or shipping charges, and the policy is transferable. PPC offers a 60-day refund or replacement policy. After that, you must pay $24 for up to one year. Shipping is $99 each way. It costs $15 for a three-year extended warranty. Low, medium, and high heat settings were available in Slow Cooker Mode. br>IP has both a and a. To increase or decrease the time, press the sign; to decrease, press the sign. br>Overall ratings - IP 4. PPCXL 4, and 7 I read a lot of verified buyer comments, and the PPC owners seemed to be much more dissatisfied with customer service; I also looked at a lot of Reviewers who do this for a living or at least blog, and they leaned towards the IP. br>I messaged with the PPCXL people online, and you can tell they've been coached for answers, knowing what their down faults are and not really answering the question or referencing what you already know is a negative. br>There are more IPs on the market, and most recipes are geared towards it from a "preset button" perspective. br>IP has a left and right handle that will hold your lid tilted. br>I'm a member of the Pressure Cooker Club - There have been a lot of complaints about other manufacturers' instructions, quick start guides, etc. , and there have been a lot of issues with lids locking, not pressurizing, and so on, but I don't see this happening with the Instant Pot family of PCs. **Sizing - br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br br>I ordered a 6 quart crock pot after measuring my crock pot. It's a good size for two people, but keep in mind that when cooking under pressure, you can only fill it up to 2/3 full. I figure that if I'm making a roast, I'll start with the meat and then move on to the vegetables. Four pint canning jars can be sterilized in the 6 quart canner. **Accessories - br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br> br>Are there any other things I should get? I bought a 3-pack of OXO Good Grips steamers with extendable handles. Color-coded IP Rings (dark for savory meats, orange for desserts, and clear for yogurt) I had read that they were dishwasher safe, but not 100% because flavors might get lost in them. br>br>I'm planning to order two cookbooks (IP Electric Pressure Cooker Cookbook for $9 and IP Obsession for $12) on my next order. There are many Facebook Group pages for recipes and online reviewers that you can join. Simply type "in a pressure cooker" or "in an IP" after the recipe you're making. Since I'll be making yogurt, I'll also pick up IP Silicone Mitts ($10) to make it easier to remove a hot pot. br>br>The only disadvantage of the Instant Pot is that it does not come in a 10 quart size, which would be the only reason I would buy one if I had a very large family, but based on the above, I would probably just buy a second Instant Pot. br>br>I hope this has been of assistance. I conducted extensive research and felt compelled to share what I discovered. As I use it and receive more questions, I'll update this page. br>br>update dated September 8, 2017 - For the past few months, I've been using my IP. My steamer basket and trivet are frequently used in my kitchen. When I make a whole chicken, I make a "bowl" out of heavy-duty foil and place it on the trivet; it keeps the trivet clean. it's much easier to get up. For the slow cooker, I purchased an IP plain glass lid. yogurt mode is on. I don't use my extra rings because I use my plain yogurt lid, so swapping rings is pointless. The silicone mitts were not included in my order. I came to the realization that I didn't require them. On yogurt mode, my inner pot does not get as hot. The two cookbooks are appealing to me. To clean the pot, I use Bar Keeper's Friend. I'm still very pleased with my IP- DUO Plus 60 is an upgraded version of the DUO Plus 60. I'm a member of a Facebook PC group, but I haven't seen any IP complaints. My purchase was a great success. br>br>Update on December 29, 2017 - So I bought the 3 quart Instant Pot on Black Friday because I felt like I needed twins. It's a great size for sides and, in particular, my 2 quart of yogurt, which I make at least once a week, so it doesn't take up space in my 6 quart Instant Pot. We spend the winter in Florida, so I was able to "sneak" the 6 quart into the truck, and now I have the 3 quart as well. In the two pots, I made an entire Thanksgiving dinner for Christmas (Irma snagged us last month while we were repairing). In the future, I'll probably just bring the 3 quart because it fits better in my mobile home cabinets.
