Questions & Answers

Is it possible to cut vegetables like potatoes, eggplants, and radishes into cubes?

Unfortunately, the answer is no. Cubing grids for food processors exist, but as far as I can tell, they are only available for professional-grade food processors and typically cost $100 or more. Your options can be found by searching for "cubing grids" on the internet or on Amazon.

Has anyone attempted to make pie dough with it?

It works well for dough, but I only use the pulse function because otherwise it goes too fast and generates too much heat, which is undesirable when making pie dough.

Is it possible to make nut butters (cashew, almond, etc.) with this unit?

This is a great way to make almond butter. It performed better than a Ninja food processor I purchased, and it came close to matching the performance of my vintage Kitchen Aid food processor.

Is it okay to 'rice' cauliflower with this?

Most likely, if you only pulse for 3 seconds. However, it is extremely powerful, and your end result may be mush rather than "rice."

It was the first time I had ever used a food processor
5/5

The 28th of December, 2016 is a holiday in the United States. br>I'll be writing a review in stages as time goes on. br>First and foremost, I just opened the box and am amazed that this processor costs $21. I believe it was $29 the last time I checked. It was reasonably well packed (though not particularly well), but I quickly assembled it. I was looking for something a little more manageable, like a 3-footer. 4 cups, but I figured why not since it was so inexpensive and had so many positive reviews? Because you sometimes get what you pay for, I'm hoping it will last a long time, even if it does feel a little light and cheap. br>I made the decision to make pie dough right away. I added 1 1/4 cup flour, salt, sugar, and butter to the mix. I was blown away by how simple it was to put together! For decades, I've used a handheld cutter to make pie dough and a knife to slice and chop vegetables. I'm kicking myself for not buying one of these processors sooner to help me in the kitchen. Who knew these gadgets could make your meal preparation so much easier? br>br>I'll keep updating this review as time goes on, and I'm hoping for the best. Keep an eye out for updates. br>br>18th of January, 2017: br>br> br>Right now, this food processor has me completely smitten. I'm not sure how to express how happy I am that I took a chance and purchased this small multi-purpose machine. use tool. I've used this unit about 20 times so far, primarily to make pie dough and cut up vegetables. I cook a variety of cuisines, including French, Korean, Mexican, Indian, and many others, and it has always turned out perfectly. This food processor has drastically reduced the amount of time I spend in the kitchen chopping scallions, potatoes, zucchini, tomatoes, garlic, onions, cilantro, and a variety of other ingredients. During my testing of this device, I made several small pies for friends, and pulsing the butter is so much better. shortening into peasant-style This machine allows me to make various sized bits, which I adore. br>br>I've included two photos for this entry as a reference. Pancakes, sausage, eggs, and hashbrowns were on my menu for a homemade breakfast. I halved the potato and pushed it down the chute to see if any shredded potato pieces were present. In my first photo, you can see the end result. A pulverized mixture of onions, garlic, ginger, and jalapeo for a chicken Karahi dish is shown in the second photo. I believe the machine was pulsing four times. 6 times. Done. If it weren't for this, I'd be mincing garlic, onions, japan, and ginger for the rest of my life. br>br>I'm in love, and I'm hoping that this thing won't fail me like some of these other posters have, but I'm hopeful. I also look after my possessions and do not mistreat them. br>br>If you've never had a food processor before, or if you know someone who prefers to chop things by hand, this is a very affordable gift that will come in handy:.

NUT BUTTER KING is the name of the game with this food processor
5/5

This food processor was purchased specifically to make nut butters. I had a jar of pecan nut butter and a jar of cashew nut butter in a matter of minutes after they were washed and assembled! Every nut butter recipe I read said the process would take at least 15 minutes, so I'm blown away by this machine. I knew I'd have to wait 20 minutes, so I was prepared. I was also prepared to take breaks every now and then to keep the food processor from overheating, as I'd heard that many less expensive food processors struggle with the task. I'm not sure what kind of food processors those bloggers were using, but this little beauty made creamy cashew butter in under 3 minutes (using a 10 oz bag of Aldi honey roasted cashews) and creamy pecan butter in under 1 minute (using an 8 oz bag of chopped pecans)! Before processing the nuts, I didn't even roast or heat them. If you're curious about whether or not this will work with nut butters, don't hesitate to purchase it. This type of appliance demonstrates that you don't always have to spend a lot of money to get good quality!.

(DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE)
3/5

ZERO STARS: ZERO STARS = ZERO STARS = We couldn't get this food processor to work the first time we tried it. Although the motor was turning, the blade was not spinning. We contacted Hamilton Beach and informed them that the base unit was not functioning properly. We had to open the bottom to see if the motor was even connected to the base unit because they needed more information about what was wrong with it. The motor's top was broken because of the cheap plastic. Because we had to open it to figure out what was wrong, Hamilton Beach refused to honor the warranty, so it's effectively a waste of money that we never got to use. They claimed that this was an unusual occurrence, but I noticed that another reviewer experienced the same thing. Don't waste your money on a business that isn't willing to stand behind their products. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever.

Surprisingly strong - For the price, this is an exceptional performance
5/5

For the price, this is an excellent food processor. My fancy Cuisinart food processor, which I had paid $200 for, stopped working for no apparent reason, so I purchased it with an Amazon Prime Now order. I needed to replace my Cuisinart for a dinner party the next night, so when ordering last-minute party supplies from Amazon Prime Now, I checked to see if they sold food processors, which they did, so I bought this one. br>br>While this food processor is significantly lighter than my Cuisinart, it still has a large work bowl. It effortlessly purees, chops, and blends a wide range of foods. It has more power than my Cuisinart, in my opinion. As you can see in my photos, I was able to quickly chop vegetables and puree them. It took me a while to figure out how to properly lock the working bowl and top cover so the machine would turn on, but once I did, it was simple to use. The power and speed with which it operated astounded me. When you need a puree, it completely purees whatever ingredient you're using in seconds, unlike some food processors, which can take a long time or produce a chunky puree. The food processor has two suction cup feet on the bottom that keep it firmly in place on your counter, which is a great feature. br>br>The only issue I have with this food processor is that it is VERY loud. I was using it late the night before my party to prepare a few things, and I was taken aback by how loud it was. I could only do a few pulses and finish one ingredient because the noise level would have woken up my apartment neighbors; if Hamilton Beach could figure out how to reduce the noise level by half, this would be the ideal food processor.
