Questions & Answers
Yes, despite the fact that this is an older unit that has since been redesigned, the container dimensions have remained consistent.
It was perfect for me!
Refrigeration is not recommended for VITAMIX containers. The blade will seize prematurely as the bearing lubrication dries out. Never put the container in the refrigerator or freezer, and avoid getting the bottom of the container wet to prolong the life of the bearings.
They stated that it was bpa-free. But I'm not sure how to prove it.

Mix has had its ups and downs, such as when the tamper shredded because you forgot to close the lid. Perhaps your relationship has lost its luster. I know; That's where I've been. But, after 13 years, this gleaming container with a new wet blade assembly was exactly what I needed to recommit to my Vita-Mix regimen. Mix 5000. It fits perfectly (I'd forgotten how young we were both), and I now have a spare to use for soups and other stain-prone blends. People, keep your marriages together. It's a lovely thing to be committed.
My Vitamix VM0103 was purchased in 1994. The motor was still going strong, but the container was cloudy, and the blade assembly was squealing. Last year, I replaced the drive socket. This new container fits perfectly, and the lid that came with it works as well. My Vitamix is one of my favorite appliances.
I got this replacement and I absolutely adore it! Other blenders are a waste of time, I swear. Vitamix is the best blender on the market. Yay!.
It is compatible with my Vitamix 6300. For two reasons, I deducted two stars. The plastic container cost $100, but since the entire unit cost $450, I couldn't just throw it away because the plastic container had fallen and cracked. I'm aware that a container without blades is available. lid for $50 (still ridiculous), but I chose the one with blades because I was concerned that they might have been damaged during the fall 2. The original lid on the new container is a tad too small, so removing it will take two hands.
Yes, I left a spoon in my Vitamix, which caused the plastic container to crack. Yes, it ruined the blade as well. This replacement is excellent; the handle design is unique, but I've grown accustomed to it. I didn't buy a new lid because my old one worked fine; it still fits, but only with two hands - It's a lot more difficult to use because it's a lot tighter.
The wet container was jamming and struggling after many years of faithful service, and it was also horribly discolored and cloudy from daily use. I had no idea that parts for this very old model could be purchased, but I was delighted to learn that they could. My old lid fit perfectly, and the container was identical to the blender's original container. When I have the funds, I will purchase a dry container in order to extend the life of my workhorse Super 5000.
After nearly 30 years, the original VM0103 container was finally wearing out. Although the original is no longer available, this replacement is extremely close to the original. Rubber bottom blade retainer, handle of comparable or higher quality. br>The original rubber lid isn't completely secure. Although dubious, when held in place, it appears to seal well. br>The reversible lower skirt is not available. The original has enforcement, but it appears to be of good quality. br>After multiple uses, there have been no issues, but only time will tell.
I have a Vitamix Model VM0103 purchased in 2013, and the blades became slightly dull from pulverizing ice. Also, from pulverizing ice, the blades became slightly dull, making the container unit slightly difficult to clean due to its etched surface. This Vitamix container/blade combination is incredible —- It's a perfect match for my unit. It's even a little quieter now! Love it! Instead of buying separates, I saved a little money on this purchase. It was a good investment!.
