This is plastic. Glasses that keep ice from melting so quickly don't have a plastic taste.
There are very few things as tough as glass. There is only hot water and soap inside a dishwasher, so you can put expensive crystal, cheap crystal, and plastic in it. It isn't a reason to have little boys inside scrubbing or hitting what is being cleaned. Hands are less likely to be broken over a mistake while hand washing.
There is no leakage from the cups. In regard to the question of whether or not they collect frost, the answer is no. As time goes on, they take on a brownish hue. What I don't know is that the drinks become brownish in color, but they don't influence their taste. As a result, we are very fond of and often use these glasses. There is a diameter of 3 1/2 inches at the lip. There are 3 inches of depth. On the inside, it has a rounded bottom, so it can't be measured, but on the outside, the diameter of the base of the glass is 3 inches.

They're a great gift for my husband and his friends occasionally who come over for drinks in the backyard! When they sit out there trying to figure out the world's problems, the ice lasts as long as they do. Discussions can be heated even when the emotions are high!.
It is not the construction of the tumblers that I have complaints about as others have. This can be attributed to its inability to cool and keep things warm. Ice cubes were not nearly as cold as using a cooling drink. Using a cooling drink took a long time and was not as cold as using a cooling drink. I found the temperature to be very marginally cold, but it did not hold that temperature for very long. These were simply not worth the cost and certainly did not perform as I expected, so the next day I returned them. Please keep in mind that this is just my opinion.
It was hard for me to decide whether to buy these sunglasses since so many negative reviews were available. Their lack of staying cold long enough was one of the biggest complaints. At room temperature, they eventually do "warm up," as I found out. However, they keep my beverages colder for a longer period than my other glasses. I also do not have to wipe my tables with "sweat" anymore. More will be bought in different sizes in the future. Despite the fact that it's a minor detail, I wish they were dishwasher-safe.
room full of air - When liquid is poured into these, it will not make the liquid ice-cold, it should not be expected to do so. If you want to use ice, do so. If the gel inside is frozen, the plastic will keep cold drinks cold longer than a glass, even as the outside warms up. Heat is transferred from the outside to the inside, causing the plastic to become thick on the outside and thin on the inside. I have four of these and use them almost every day. I have not seen any discoloration as some other reviewers have noted, but mine are used primarily for whiskey - I'd expect any discoloration in these would occur after a period of time. Drinks from other sources might discolor the plastic as well.
It could have been a faulty one since the second one still works fine. As far as I know there is no easy way to contact the supplier on Amazon and I missed the return window on Amazon.
These I had to hand wash and leave in the dish drainer overnight after I got them. They were then placed upside down in the freezer (as directed on the package). One of them had cracked at the top when I returned a couple of hours later. The other one I tried just for fun, but the smell of plastic overtook the flavor of the wine. The whole thing was awful.
These also seem to be great pint glasses as we have tried the one like this before and really love them. The last time we used them was about three weeks ago. Our family enjoys drinking Old Fashions out of these over the summer and is impressed with how cold the glass keeps our drinks. While hand washing them, I noticed that the bottom has cracked in a starburst pattern (see picture)*****. This is so sad because we haven't used them much and we have taken gentle care of them. Not to mention the summer hasn't even begun yet. It is my hope that the manufacturer will send a replacement to me if I contact them.
The act of drinking good quality scotch at room temperature is a sin in my book. I think adding ice to this cup significantly impacts the taste experience.
I enjoy using this cup despite the fact that it has a cooling effect. My enjoyment of this set has been so great, I bought another one. In addition, I had a great experience dealing with the distributor.
