The 5-year-old gets it when we go out to eat or when we travel. With the case included, this set is very easy to clean and I like that it is well made. It is only the fork that is not particularly appealing to my husband and me. Since it's more like a spork than a fork, my daughter and I have a hard time getting food on it most of the time and we just use it If we are at a restaurant and she needs a fork, I'll usually just tell her to use the fork they've given us, or I'll supply her with my own. Forks are meant to break, so if it was one of the real ones, I would give it 5 stars and buy a few more!.
This set is ideal for my two-year-old toddler they are not too bulky or too thin. I wanted one set to keep in the diaper bag with its own case, and this is a great option. One concern I have with this set is that both the spoons and forks are very wide. Perhaps older kids would find these more appropriate. As the product is designed to be wide, my 15month old has difficulties eating with it and a lot of it ends up all over her mouth in contrast to other brands. She gets frustrated if I help her feed her with this set and I have to help her do it on her own. This one will keep her until she is a bit older so I am looking for a new set.
Since we've had these a couple of months, we've been carelessly using them with virtually every food and sauce we can think of. There was no staining, no rusting, and not one fell apart no matter how many times they were dropped. It is unlikely that my dishes will withstand washing in the dishwasher since I only wash them by hand. They are great and the fact that they come with containers makes them perfect for traveling or just on the go generally. This is definitely a product I intend to purchase more of. Highly recommend.
