It had beautifully sharp edges that never stung my eyes with grapefruit juice. Unfortunately, this holy grail of grapefruit spoons vanished as mysteriously as it appeared within my parents' silverware drawer (for real, they would never buy one and it just appeared at some point). So, not long after, I began my search for its equivalent, which I was surprised to discover was a lot more difficult than I had anticipated; after all, how complicated can a grapefruit spoon be? Well, apparently very much so, because I've tried a few, including this one, and none of them come close to matching the original Jesus of jagged spoons. This spoon was also a letdown, despite the fact that it functions satisfactorily. If you aren't a grapefruit spoon expert, this one will probably suffice and you won't know because you haven't been tainted by perfection. I, on the other hand, am still on the lookout for the ONE.
I never imagined that utensils could elicit such strong emotions. This grapefruit spoon used to make me angry every time I used it, until I purchased it. Unfortunately, I missed the return window, but fantasizing about destroying it fills me with joy. It's amazing how designers got so many things wrong. To begin with, it isn't very good at cutting fruit - It smushes flesh and squirts juice everywhere, either because the teeth are too thick or because they are curved too much. Second, the spoon bowl has an incorrect shape and proportions - It's too long as well as too narrow at the tip. Third, the serrations are curved upwards, scratching the inside of your mouth. Finally, the handle is a little too short to provide good leverage for extracting the sections, which wouldn't be an issue if it cut fruit well in the first place. So that's all there is to it. The worst spoon I've ever seen. Oh, and there's one bright spot: The stainless steel is of good quality and feels good in the hand, but that won't matter because it'll be thrown out soon.
The design of these Norpro spoons appears to be of high quality, but it is completely incorrect. They're far too wide, rounded, and "spoon-like" in appearance. To dig out the fruit sections, use a "V" shaped tool. It makes eating grapefruit a lot more difficult.

I'll be 67 this year, and I'm writing this review for grapefruit spoons because I've always thought they were a potentially ineffective, but very status-building and hoity-toity item. How to eat a grapefruit in a posh manner. I'll admit it now: I was wrong. I'm pleased with the appearance and weight of these grapefruit spoons, and I'm particularly impressed with the way they effectively cut into the grapefruit so that there is more to eat and less waste, as opposed to the way I've always eaten grapefruit for all these Wasted Years. Thank you, Norpro, for producing such a high-quality product.

We had a few more grapefruit spoons, but they gradually vanished (perhaps into the same place as lost socks?). ) These are a good substitute because the serrated edges are effective at separating grapefruit from the rind. My only wish would be for the handles to be a little more rounded. The handle is not very comfortable to hold when digging into the grapefruit. They are, however, perfectly acceptable for the time it takes to eat half a grapefruit.
They make it a lot easier to eat Pummellos and grapefruit. When using these on juicy, delicious fruit, take care not to squirt juice in your eyes. I'm glad I purchased them. The next ones I get will have a thick handle to make it easier on my hands, which is why I gave them a five-star rating. Hands and fingers can be a challenge with these.
This is fantastic. They're not strictly necessary, but they're far superior to using a knife and a regular spoon. They perfectly cut the grapefruit and assist you in getting the most out of it. They encourage me to consume more grapefruit. They help you save time and energy while also being safe to use. It was the grapefruit that was cut, not your mouth.
