'Made in China,' reads the Keeper's label. 'Taiwan' is written on the knife. There are no markings on the spoons.
In this photo, the grapefruit keeper appears to be half a grapefruit. It's a container for keeping the other half of the grapefruit fresh, assuming you only eat half of it at a time. I don't use it very often because I usually eat the entire grapefruit, but I love the grapefruit knife because it cuts both sides of the skin membranes at the same time because it has two parallel blades on that side, and the spoons can almost do the job by themselves if I'm in a hurry. I think it's a great buy!

The double blade, or twin blade, as they call it, caught me off guard. My goodness, it shaved off more than half of the prep time! The right and left sides of the grapefruit skin are cut with this twin blade. There aren't enough words to describe how much I adore this incredible double-bladed grapefruit knife. The half-grapefruit storage unit is one of my favorites. The four spoons are particularly appealing to me. I enjoyed every minute of it.
I had no idea a knife was available to aid you in your grapefruit eating. I absolutely adore it! There will be no scraping or tearing any longer! And what about the half-grapefruit holder? Adorable! Although, to be honest, I'm not sure I'll ever use it. I always eat the entire grapefruit, but for those who don't, this is a super cute way to keep the other half.
We ordered this for our daughter-in-law's Christmas because she threatened to steal our old grapefruit spoons. If my wife had let me, I would have kept the knife and storage unit for the second half of the grapefruit and given her our old ones. We'll have to order a second set so that we can each have one.
Very nice set, particularly the gadget that allows you to put half a grapefruit in the fridge after only eating half of it. The spoons are fine, but the container for storing them is crucial.
br>I finally placed an order for her to have her own. It's something she really enjoys. It came with a container as well. br>It was a wonderful present for her, and she was delighted with it.
The two-blade knife is problematic for me; first and foremost, it is dangerous. I like the idea of double blades, but they are difficult to cut precisely, and the membrane gets stuck between the two blades, making movement difficult. Also, the two blades aren't long enough to cleanly cut through a grapefruit, so I have to use a second knife, which defeats the purpose of having a double knife. I wish someone had written honest reviews so I wouldn't have to go through this return process.
I have an old grapefruit separator/knife from another manufacturer, and this new one has been sloppily sharpened and is quite dull. The grapefruit spoon serrations are sharp and raised, which is an unusual feature of this set. When using the spoons, two people have complained that they irritate their lips. Because of these features, digging out bites with the spoon was easier than using the dull knife. Otherwise, everything is solid, and the grapefruit holder is a nice touch.
The spoons are fantastic, but the knife is out of this world. The spoons, thankfully, are sufficient for cutting the sections on their own. Two blades are placed side by side on the straight side of the knife, with a gap in between them. between. When you cut open a grapefruit, it tears up. When using the rounded knife, you'll have to deal with a short handle, which isn't worth it. To cut it open, use a regular serrated knife, and eat your fruit with serrated spoons.
