Grapefruit is one of Mom's favorite fruits, but I despise having to cut it up for her. The knife is in excellent condition. After halving the edge, cut the inside sections out in a circle. With a grapefruit spoon, I served it to her. The knife is flimsy, but it gets the job done. Because the spoon's edges are serrated, I was concerned about it. I was afraid that my 87-year-old mother would cut her lips, tongue, or mouth. There is no need to be concerned after using the spoon. This is a secure option. Don't use a heavy spoon. What would I do if I didn't have these handy little gadgets?.
What you pay for is exactly what you get. Cheap Chinese product that looks the part but isn't very useful or does what it claims to do. The grapefruit knife and spoon are too thick and dull to do anything but make a grapefruit soup. What a colossal financial blunder!.
The spoons are perfectly shaped for lifting out the sections and cutting through any remaining pith, and the knives are perfect for sectioning grapefruit. The spoon's pointed tip and serrated edge are shaped to aid in pulling out sections while remaining smooth on the mouth and lips and preventing the spoon from catching when sliding it out of the mouth through closed lips. Design is excellent. Cold pink grapefruit in the morning has rekindled my love for it. I'd make another purchase.
and I used a butter knife and a regular spoon. The serrated spoons really help you get that delicious meat out easier, and they are sturdy enough to get the job done.
I had no idea grapefruit spoons and forks existed until one day at work, when I overheard a conversation about them. Of course, this led me to Amazon! Definitely cutting edge! I sliced right through the grapefruit segments' thin membrane. However, after a few weeks in this house, they'll become a little dull. Lol. They are effective. br> Perhaps a little too well, but who wants to spend money on a dull knife?.
The spoons are beautiful, and the knives are functional, but the wood finish peels away quickly. I'll still recommend them because they're a good deal, but if you eat grapefruit frequently, you should invest in better knives.
This is fantastic. The knife, as well as the spoons, perform admirably. If you like grapefruit, these are a must-have; I also use the spoons to remove the seeds and juice from passion fruit.
