Questions & Answers
It isn't stainless steel in any way. It's made of a cast zinc alloy known as pot metal. Both the Amazon listing and the product packaging make this clear.
Is this product only water resistant, or does it also resist wine?
I just got mine, and it's clearly marked "Made in China" on the box. Not at all what I had hoped for. It appears to be reasonably well constructed. All I have to do now is wait and see if it continues.
The screw has a fairly sharp point, and the screw above it is made of flattened metal with sharp edges. The screw can easily go into corks thanks to the two sharp features, and the flat screw part does not pull out of the cork like a wire screw can. Overall, this opener is of higher quality than the majority of similar designs and performs admirably.

Every moving part of this mechanism has a lot of "slop," also known as "play. " As you use it, you can feel it flexing and rattling around, and I doubt it will last long. Zinc is a poor material for this type of tool, and the tolerances used in its construction are extremely loose. It appears to be a copy of a Chinese copy. br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: A bribe in the form of a "$20 refund for the trouble" of removing my review was offered to me.
Edit: Now I've been offered $25 to take the review down. More than $25 is the value of my integrity.
Edit: They've now offered to pay me $30 to get this review taken down. At least three of these shoddy wine cork removers are involved. Best wishes to you.
We've owned a lot of corkscrews and wine openers in the past, and we've found that the more expensive and elaborate the wine opener is, the faster it breaks down and ends up in the trash. This "oldie but a goodie" is similar to the kind that my parents used and still use, and it works flawlessly. Avoid the fads and opt for this reliable device instead.
Previous corkscrew openers I've used are flimsy; the T lever arms bend easily, the screw mechanisms break off, and the cork is rarely pierced dead center, which can shatter a dried-out cork. It appears that designing and fabricating such a simple device is not as simple as it appears. This opener, on the other hand, is fantastic at what it's supposed to be doing! The finish is excellent, and it fits my hands well, allowing me to open wine bottles of all shapes and sizes consistently and effortlessly. br>I would buy it again and recommend it to others.
It's exactly what my wife wanted, and it works perfectly. I would have recommended the waiter's wine bottle opener if I had been asked. It does the job well, is inexpensive, and takes up very little room in your pocket or kitchen drawer. It also comes with a foil cutter, which ours did not. And I believe it will last for a longer time. Both products are familiar to me, as I've used them at home and sold hundreds of them in my shop. In addition, I would recommend looking for a model with two placement options on the bottle's lip. As you pull the cork out further from the bottle, your leverage increases. As a result, you won't have to screw the corkscrew in quite as far. This eliminates the risk of drilling all the way through the cork and contaminating your wine with cork fragments.
It has made me very happy!.
This screwdriver has been a disappointment to me. So far, it has proven to be effective. However, it is not as sturdy as I had hoped, and removing the cork requires considerable effort. It's the kind of thing you'll come across on the internet every now and then, a product that appears to be fine in photos but that I wouldn't buy if I saw it in person. br>br>To be honest, I'll be surprised if it's still working in a year, though that could be due to my wine consumption!.
It's right there in my headline. Because of the screw design, this corkscrew chews up the cork (though it might be fine with a non-cork bottle). For the extraction, cork cork) without entering. I first assumed we had a bottle with a deteriorating cork, but when I tried it on another bottle, the result was the same. It astounds me that this could receive so many positive comments.
The corkscrew opener is strong and simple to operate. It may take a few tries to get the bottle cap opener to work because it isn't as tight as it could be and easily spins. This opener is heavy, but the edges are squared off rather than rounded, and it's a little floppy, so I wouldn't call it of high quality. However, for the price, I'm satisfied with my purchase!.
