Selected User Reviews For Gobel 3-1/2-Inch Brioche Mold, Set of 4, Nonstick
This mold is elegant, nonstick, sturdy, and easy to clean, and it produces lovely brioches, mini cakes, and jellos, among other things. Due to the high butter content, brioches will come out easily. If you're going to bake a cake, make sure it's well greased. For a baker, this is an excellent investment. I had to return them because they were much smaller than I had anticipated, only 3 inches long. The flutes are 5 inches across the top. I did, however, purchase the larger size, which measures 4 inches across the top with the flutes included.
I'm new to the brioche game, but I enjoy baking bread and making everything from scratch, so when I saw a brioche recipe, I knew I had to give it a try. I first needed a set of fancy pans, which I couldn't find in any stores. I chose these because they are non-toxic. We all know how difficult it can be to get baked goods out of non-stick pans. stick. They created the perfect shape for my brioche, and the finished product simply popped out of the molds with no resistance. To keep the non-porous surface, I've been hand-washing mine. keep the coating on for as long as you can; Putting them in the dishwasher is not a good idea. The only recommendation I would make is not to fill the molds more than halfway with dough. If you don't overfill the mold, the brioche will look better and be less lopsided. Because the molds are rigid and heavy, you won't have to worry about them easily bending out of shape. Although the edges are a little sharp, I'm not the most coordinated person and have yet to cut myself, so you should be fine. I only need to buy about four more of these and I won't have to go to the bakery ever again.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE! Yes, Brioche is very easy to work with. There isn't any PAM, butter, or anything like that- They'll fall right out with just a shake of the wrist. THE VERY BAD: br>br>THE VERY BAD: br>br>THE VERY BAD: These molds have incredibly sharp edges. If you aren't careful and accidentally run your finger across the edge, you could get a nasty cut. In fact, if you run your finger along the mold's outer edge, you'll notice that it's razor sharp. My family is in the manufacturing business, so I understand how a dulled stamping die can result in an unwanted sharp edge on a stamped steel form. They should never sell a product with such shoddy workmanship, especially considering the price tag of $13. These little suckers aren't going to be given away for 59 for four. I would have given this product five stars if not for this major flaw. I gave it two stars instead of one because, as I previously stated, they do a fantastic job of releasing the Brioche.
To make one of the brioche variants from "The Bread Baker's Apprentice," I purchased the Marinex 1 1/3 quart brioche dish and a set of Gobel 3 1/2 inch brioche molds. This mold, along with the others, fit the recipe perfectly. I was able to make the perfect small brioche a tete with these molds. Prior to baking, I sprayed them with oil, but I'm not sure it was necessary. The dough was quickly released, and it was easy to clean. They're small and easy to store because they nest. In addition, the cost is very reasonable. I wish I had bought twice as many, and I'm thinking about doing so now.
The non- Stick surfaces are functional and of the proper size.
NOT AS DESCRIBED IN THE ADVERTISEMENT. There was only one pan sent. The pans themselves appeared to be of good quality, but not worth $15 each.
Good.
There was only one Brioche mold pan, not four, and it was a child size, which was not what I had anticipated.
