You should check with the manufacturer, but the seam isn't welded shut; it's simply formed. It may be difficult to clean them after frying, so I used mine to bake.

A dessert called passion cones is described in a book by one of my favorite authors. It doesn't say much about what they are, so I created a recipe with pastry puff cones, whipped cream, and raspberry compote to recreate them as I imagined them. I got these cones to assist in the making of them, and they worked out quite well! The puff pastry cooked well, the cones were easy to remove, and while I had to scrub a few spots, the pastries came off mostly clean. Separating them was the most difficult part at first; I had to use pliers on a few of them. I'd suggest it.
I had a hard time separating them from one another. Whatever method is used, it gets the job done.
I didn't give it a perfect score because the connections kept overlapping when I used them, so I had to wrap them in tin foil to keep them clean. The packages stated that there would be 20 cones in total. I ordered two in the hopes of getting close to 50, but each pack only had 16 in it. That is incorrect.
They're well-made, sturdy, and come with a cleaning brush, which I really appreciate. I was given a total of 20.
It's a lot of fun to use, but it's a pain to detach each horn at first. It is still something I would recommend.
It really works. It's fantastic.
