I use the long probe in my aquarium, but don't submerge the end with the readout because it isn't waterproof.

I liked it at first, but after a month or so, it reads low in a variety of ways, ranging from 3-5%. The temperature is 7 degrees Fahrenheit. I was hoping that for the price, it would maintain accuracy for a longer period of time. I used to keep these on hand in our corporate lab, but I can no longer afford to do so on a monthly basis.
When I received the thermometer, the original battery had died, but I was able to replace it for a few dollars at Walmart. It worked perfectly after I replaced the battery. Because I use it for my aquarium, the long stem makes it simple and convenient to use.
It is something I would recommend to other DWC members.
