When you first buy a calibration certificate, how long does it last?

"There is no exact way to determine how long calibration will be maintained," according to the paperwork that came with the unit. The calibration date on my unit was September 15th, and the due date was September 17th. I hope this has been of assistance.

What is the procedure for recalibration of this device? Is it also necessary for me to obtain a calibration certificate?

This is accompanied by a current certificate. The unit comes with instructions on how to recalibrate and recertify it.

Is there a certificate with it?

That's correct. They must, however, be re-created. Every year, certification is obtained. You must deliver them to the company, where they will be re-calibrated.

Is there an AC adapter included with this? strips of magnetism? Is it possible to mount it on the wall?

The device is battery-powered and does not require an AC adapter to operate. There is a bracket that can be attached to the wall. Magnetic and Velcro strips are also included to allow for mounting on a variety of surfaces.

Within a few months, the cord had given out

When I bought it in October of 2017, it was a good thermometer at a good price (price has since gone up/more than doubled from 26. 75 to 61. 17 today! ) satisfied the requirements for recording current temperature, max/min with glycol probe, but after a few months, the cord frayed at the attachment and separated. The temperature of the room will still be recorded by the unit. This unit was also labeled fisherbrand vs Fisher Scientific, so I'm not sure if a replacement glycol probe cord is available. Until June 22, 2019, the calibration is still valid. This year, because of the cord failure with this unit, I ordered a different brand (which appears to be the same unit with different labeling and a smaller glycol probe bottle), but I prefer the larger glycol bottle on this unit. Both describe a 5ml glycol probe bottle, but there is a clear size difference: the larger glycol bottle at the bottom of the photo is from this device, while the smaller glycol bottle at the top is from the replacement device ordered this year.

There were several different mounting options available, so I could mount it on the side and easily remove it if I needed to reset it.

When you look at the unit, it shows you the high and low readings over time as well as the current temperature. It has been in my freezer for over seven months.
