With my Used - I didn't get a certificate. Purchased from Amazon on November 13th, 2019, this unit is in excellent condition.
When you turn it on, it displays the current temperature. So, if it's in your pocket, it might read higher, but if you put it on a table, it'll show the room temperature when you turn it on.
It moves the reading from the indentation to a point near the tip.
I'm not sure how big it is. It's something I use while it's wet. It's thin and functional for what I need it for, but I'm not sure if it'll be suitable for you. It might be worth a shot, especially considering the cost of the port-specific testing instrument is $700.

I had looked around for a good pocket thermometer with good features at a reasonable price, and I believe Extech's products have a good reputation. As a Hotel Maintenance Engineer, I frequently use laser thermometers, but they are not always the best choice for certain situations and are too large to carry in a shirt pocket, according to what I read. I'm not always sure I can trust temperature gauges or what a cooler/fridge thermostat says. This is the ideal tool for taking temperature readings during a work shift, from swimming pools to restaurant coolers! Features include excellent quality, water resistance, and, of course, digital functionality. The probe is protected by a nice cover. However, it is extremely sharp, so use caution. It has celsius and fahrenheit temperature settings, as well as Min/Max recall and data hold. This thermometer is fantastic, and I strongly suggest it. It's extremely useful.
It's been over 5 years, and things are still going well! I was just about to leave a review for my new Roku TV from Amazon when I realized I hadn't done so for this thermometer. I believe it is fair to leave a positive review because it was such a well-made item that has lasted for over 5 years. I had to buy new l44 cell batteries for this thermometer because the one inside had finally died! lol. Anyway, I'm a big fan of this thermometer, and it's come in handy when it comes to making homemade wine, beer, and bread.
This is a good thermometer at a low price. It's a quick response that appears to be accurate. br>br>However, it is not "waterproof. " 'It's only a smidgeon water resistant. ' That shouldn't come as a shock - This is no exception to the rule that most cheap 'waterproof' digital thermometers aren't actually waterproof. br>br>On the plus side, it appears to tolerate getting the electronics wet quite well. It ceases to function, water enters the display, and it appears to be dead. But, so far, when I've left it to dry for a few days, it's always come back to life (yes, I'm being more careful with it now that I know it's not really waterproof, but still. ).
One of these should be in every home.
The compact size and quick temperature measurement response are two features that I like.
I've only had it for a short time, but I really like how waterproof it is. This is necessary for me because I use the temperature of milk and water to prepare yeast for baking. Also, who knows when the thermometer will find its way into the sink? It reads accurately, but it takes about 10 seconds to read at the most, and it came in a sturdy housing with a bright green color that makes it easy to find in my gadget drawer.
It appears to be quite accurate. It was the first and only time I used it. It's a great space saver, as well as handy, convenient, and compact, and you can take it with you to the park, on picnics, or to a friend's house to BBQ. I don't have enough experience with it to give it a 5-star rating. A rating of one to five stars If I run into any problems in the future, I'll post an update.
I was looking for an instant read stem thermometer, and this appeared to be it. I see now that you'll have to pay a little more for that. This item will provide you with an accurate reading, but the display will take a few seconds to stabilize on the temperature. For me, this isn't a major issue. I simply insert it into the pork chop and make sure I wear my reading glasses because the display is quite small.
