For homebrewing, I found this to be an excellent tool. It is very important to measure the temperature of the middle of the pot during the wort chill. Make sure the bulb does not come in contact with Although the unit has seals, if it is submerged for a while, it can short out. I experienced that issue, and though the device came back to life a few hours later, I would have preferred it to work before then.

It's an older product

The product is fine, but the certificate that is provided with it is from almost a year ago. I got it in January of 2021, and the certificate dates from January of 2020. If I had known I only had a short time left on the certificate, I would not have bought it. There are usually two years to prepare.
