There was a sealed box when it arrived, but the package inside was open. The Collector doesn't fit the base. It will go about 3/4 of the way and then stop, it leans, for the yeast it hasn't fully dissolved or broken down. Now that I've been doing it for 48 hours, I'm getting comfortable with it.
The legality of brewing beer or liquor is strictly scrutinized in Pennsylvania, where only wine and beer can be brewed, to the point where proofs above a certain level should be avoided when brewing spirits. The law gives me the right to keep myself within its bounds by an order from God.
In a nutshell, it does what it's supposed to do. I find the hydrometer to be simple, functional, and accurate enough for my purpose. At home I use much more yeast than I need over a long period of time, but it has held up.

My first hydrometer broke shortly after I used it. I am concerned that this item is made from very thin material, which is why the company replaced it for free.
