Instead of the 10", get the 10"

I like it because it has a metal cup so it works but it's It's a little difficult to work with since because of the displacement caused by the hydrometer, you will have some spills over when using I don't like dealing with liquids that are 200 degrees and sticky. The hydrometer doesn't like to sit on the bottom of the cup if there is less syrup. Please consider purchasing the 10" version.

The height of the frame will not make much difference, but it would be better if it was a little Additionally, in order to amend my review, I would like to point out that I intend to purchase one that will be taller than this one when it is finished. A smaller part on the top would be better, otherwise the full height would be better.

This product does the job it was designed for, but it does not allow you to see how it is filled

This type of container would be great if it was glass or clear plastic so that I could see where it was filled. There was not enough sap in it to overflow so I measured how much I needed to add. As a result, it is a good product in that regard since it works well with the hydrometer from the same company.

This is better than making do with what you have

The one I finally bought was a great deal. Throughout the years, I have tried to 'make do' with empty wine bottles, liquor bottles, canning jars, and whatever else I could find around the house. Each of them was using their resources inefficiently. I think this is a really great idea, as it cuts back on spillage and makes the hydrometer.

It does what it is supposed to do

It's a nice quality product for a much lower price than you'd pay at a sugaring supply store. Quite different quality, but it holds syrup for hydrometer testing, so all it needs to do is hold syrup for testing.
