Questions & Answers

Biodiesel can it be used?

While I have not tried it with Bio diesel, we have used it with diesel for about 4 years and I can't see why it would be affected by Bio diesel.

Does it need to be driven by gravity or by a pressure pump in order to count gallons?

If you search for 806C or 806CL, you will find it.

The meter can also be operated with a hand pump, right?

While it can do what it's supposed to, I wouldn't expect very high accuracy. It is quite possible to get an inaccurate reading with a hand pump due to the speed and consistency limitations. It's just a matter of being

What materials do the parts of the meter that come into contact with the fluid come in contact with? Can this meter be used to measure Sodium Hypochlorite?

This 807C cannot be used with sodium hypochlorite because of the aluminum it is made of.

This doesn't work unless you fill your tank at full speed or blast
3/5

I hadn't expected it to work. This is the same brand (Fill-In - Using an APMOrite) pump capable of pumping 15 gpm to fuel Pumps should be allowed to pump at their full capacity as long as the pressure is properly maintained. When you get close to being full, let the pump only pump at 10 percent The fuel gauge does not read any fuel going through the unit when it is at 25% capacity. A 2020 Rav4 is currently in our garage. Toyota has a problem with getting the last 4+ gallons of fuel into the tank of the vehicle - but no one else does. It's best to pour in the last 4 or so gallons After the nozzle clicks off from the first hold notch, this device won't show more than a 10th of a gallon. I'm sure it would work fine on my tractors, excavators, etc if I pumped at a pressure of not more than 15 psi My pump is rated for 20 gpm, but I pump to those at 40+, so I don't go out there all day. On my way home from the filling station In the RITE website (prior to purchase), it stated this unit would work with pumps that had a maximum of 20 gpm, but I ended up spending $35 it was not included in the price. Purchasing a name brand unit was 4x the cost of the model I was looking at so that I would feel confident in the As far as my fuel economy goes, I still don't have a good plan. It might make sense to go with one of those Chinese displays for $25 It is the last thing I would like to happen, There will be no useful information displayed.

The idea of keeping the delivery guy honest and knowing when to order additional fuel is a good one
5/5

It appears to be well made and I have had good luck with Fill-In Meters This is my second time using Rite. I used it on a diesel fuel transfer tank in the past. Fuels such as diesel fuel, gasoline, kerosene, mineral spirits, standard solvents and heptane can be measured with this fuel meter. The tenth of a gallon equals ninety-four gallons. Using the wheel on the side, you can reset the master meter and adjust this unit if it ever becomes out of calibration. It has one master meter that is calibrated with the total gallons and a second meter that is resettable by turning the dial on the side. You'll find instructions on how to accomplish both within the kit. I already had about 30 gallons on the meter when I got it, so that wasn't too much of an issue There was also some Teflon tape and the connectors included, but you might want to have some elbows and connectors on hand just in case you have a fuel filter so that you can connect it to the frame by plumbing around it. Besides the date and the user, a log book is kept by ours where we note the total gallons pumped, the starting total, and the ending total. The person who skipped a column where a number was included that isn't the last ending column is asked to circle the number on their column to alert us of the error. There is a high degree of accuracy with this. In our area, this method is extremely common and facilitates keeping track of who has used the tanks as well as making sure you are not being shorted by your fuel supplier. When you have a meter on your tank, it tells the fuel delivery person that you are on top of things and encourages them to put in what they charge you. Due to the high price of diesel fuel, it does not take long for the meters to pay for themselves. This also assists you in knowing when to order again so that you don't waste your time and water sucking up that last gallon in your tank that has dirty water, rust, and other things that are sitting on the bottom of your tank. In addition, tilt your tank on its side so that your nozzle ends are on the high side. This will prevent you from sucking up water, dirt, trash, etc. from the bottom of the The following changes have been made to the 2019 updates I've been doing this for four years now.

Drips of diesel drip out of the hose when it sticks
3/5

The flow is restricted when it sticks. In order to make this work reliably, a decent amount of fall must occur. Unless you are filling a can from the ground, I am not sure how well it will work from my 8' elevated tank. Even with the tank nearly full of diesel, my tractor would only allow a dribble of diesel to flow from the tank outlet when there was only about 3' of total fall from the tank outlet. For reasons unknown to me, I've had to take it apart a few times before. This is not my cup of tea. It would be much better if they were to improve on.

The total number of gallons is not There were 25 or more gallons displayed on the total gallon's indicator
4/5

Reset the dials by taking off the plastic face plate and carefully removing it. Using the instruction/information pamphlet you should be able to reset the total gallons you have.

It is of great quality
5/5

Fill-in the blanks The products made by Rite are of high quality. In addition to the mechanical meter, we bought an electronic Fill-up meter as well Compared the two and decided to keep the electronic version as it is smaller, and fits better on our tank compared to the dial version.

We own a Fill-Rite meter, which we have been using for some time now. A Fill-Rite fuel transfer pump and other Fill-Rite fuel transfer pumps were also owned by us In the past, I have used Rite products. They are very high quality. Any product from the company we have received has been very satisfactory.

Set to a value other than zero
4/5

As I opened my first one, it had 932 gallons on it when I first opened its box. I ordered a replacement and it only came in at 24 gallons. I do not know what the deal is about because they both looked brand new and sealed. Is the factory flow test not reset after they are factory flow tested? (As another reviewer mentioned, cumulative cannot be reset except by opening) I decided to keep it, and I will update the review once my implementation is complete.

It has so far been a good experience

This is a new fill rite pump that we bought two years ago with the meter attached. It has been 6 months since the meter stopped working. As of now, this is the This product is as described and works as expected. The original lasted a little bit longer. Hope this one does as well.
