VERY LOW QUALITY Floodstop Compression Auto-Onsite Pro FS3/8C Onsite Pro FS3/8C Onsite Pro FS3/8C Onsite Pro FS Dishwasher shutoff for a Bosch
3/5

It's not made of solid brass, though. The valve's actual ball is, but not the housing or fittings. The treads will not tread onto a brass 3/8 coupler to insert the valve in the supply / hose to the dishwasher, so they will not work. Because I didn't want to disconnect the water supply that wasn't leaking if I didn't have to, I pulled the entire dishwasher out to get the sensor in. After installing the sensor and reinstalling the dishwasher (which took about an hour), I attempted to install the valve in the supply line, but it would not thread on the fittings, despite the fact that they were the correct fittings. It appears to be poorly forged, with shallow and rough treads; I'm not sure if the treads were machined after the housing was forged. If the treads were machined, it was a poor job. I paid $184 for a Washing Machine Valve Shutoff Kit FS3/4H v4 and returned it because one of the two valves was poorly forged and machined and would never seal. I returned it, but I haven't tried to install the replacement, so I'll open it now and give it a shot - However, don't hold your breath for a miracle. So, while $140 and $184 in US currency is not insignificant, the valve assembly alone is probably only worth about $20 due to the poor manufacturing. Quality control should be overseen by someone from Onsite Pro in China.

This is an OUTSTANDING PRODUCT! Flood Stop is one of our favorites
5/5

They keep floods at bay in my home. If my water heater fails, I'll be prepared. It's also on my toilet and dishwasher. They turn off the water heater, which makes a noise, and my husband had it connected to our security system so that we would be notified if there was an issue. He also installed a shut-off valve that will turn off the water in the entire house, protecting all of our belongings. The manufacturer provides excellent customer service. They will respond to all of your inquiries. But be aware that you can only order their product through Amazon from one of three authorized locations. DIY, ETAILZ, and Scharf are the names of the brands.

Especially if you have water heaters in your attic, this is an absolute must
5/5

I've been a long-time user of Floodstop products. I have them on my dishwasher, washing machine, ice maker in the refrigerator, one toilet (since that toilet has a bidet, I figured it would be good to have a Floodstop), and my attic water heaters (it's insane to have them in your attic, but that's how it's done in TX). After twelve years of protecting my water heaters, I returned home one night to the sound of the Floodstop's water alarm and discovered that I didn't have any hot water. When I went up into the attic, I discovered that my water heater had SPLIT OPEN and was about to release the entire supply of city water into my house. The Floodstop water sensor in the water heater's pan detected the leaking water and turned off the water. There was no need to file an insurance claim because the disaster was averted. Floodstop has been extremely helpful. I recommend that you test your Floodstop at least twice a year to make sure it's still working and protecting you. It's simple to do: dribble a few drops of water on the sensor that triggers the valve to close, then check the valve with a faucet to make sure it closed (don't rely on the sound of the valve closing; check it with a faucet). Then, to open the valve, dry the sensor and press the controller's button. You're safe because it's been completed, tested, and verified.

Get a FloodStop in your second area
5/5

There are three primary sources for a flood to occur in your home: The washing machine is the most common; the dishwasher is the second most common (as several builders have told me); and the refrigerator is the third most frequent. Last but not least, the hot water tank, which I expected to be the most important. If your home has all three, you should purchase units for each. I ditched the hot water tanks in favor of a tankless water heater that should last at least three decades. I do, however, have a washing machine and a dishwasher, both of which are now FloodStop-protected. The concept is simple: a sensor is placed on the floor beneath the dishwasher, and a solenoid is connected to the water supply. The solenoid will shut off the water supply if there is a leak, so the worst that can happen is the dishwasher will pump out the water it already has. Much better than flooding the entire house, and thanks to the fairly loud alarm, you'll notice a problem as soon as it occurs. This model has a battery backup, which means that even if the power goes out, not only will the valve close when it detects a leak, but the alarm will also work. Design is excellent. br>br>Update from September 2014: We had a leak under our dishwasher last week that we weren't expecting. The Floodstop did its job and stopped the leak before it got worse, and the warning beeper let us know there was a problem. I had to get a flashlight to see the small area where the leak occurred, which was back under the dishwasher's middle, where I would not have noticed a leak until the floor was soaked and ruined. I thought I'd fixed the problem, but there was another leak this week. This time, I was able to fix the problem completely, and I said a few words of gratitude to Floodstop and condemnation to the dishwasher manufacturer for their egregious design. Floodstop is a brand that I really like. Two thumbs up!.

But I like it
4/5

First and foremost, I'd like to point out that there aren't many similar products to choose from. Because this unit went under my sink and we use that space for storage, I wish the covers were a little thicker. If something hits the cover, it will immediately detach. Installing Save One was a breeze for me. The fact that it screws directly into the water shut-off valve was not mentioned anywhere in the instructions. valve is shut down The compression fitting was on one side, and I was certain the other side was missing a fitting. After a long search, I decided to get a fitting at a hardware store. I realized it couldn't accept a fitting as I measured the size, so I knew it was made incorrectly. After a long time of pondering what to do, it occurred to me that it might thread onto the shut-off. valve is shut down That was indeed the case; it would have been helpful if someone had mentioned it. I put the unit to the test and it performs exactly as it should.
