This water control valve does not have a "water level" adjustment. It's "static" in any tank or container it's installed in, i.e. If you want the water level in the tank to be "high," install the device as high as you can with the plumbing you have. Install a threaded PVC fitting on the inlet side of the device and attach a length of PVC pipe to the PVC fitting for your desired water level; a longer length of pipe results in a lower water level in the container, while a shorter length of pipe results in a higher water level in the container. In a 325-gallon water tank, I use the valve. To get the most gallons of water in the tank, the valve is mounted on the tank's access cover (the highest point on the tank) (no PVC pipe extensions installed). In addition, the valve performs best when the water pressure is higher. If you have a water shutoff valve in line before the water level control valve, make sure it's open halfway or more. If the "shutoff valve" is cracked open just a little bit, allowing water to "trickle in," the water level control valve will not function properly. To function properly, it necessitates a sufficient amount of water pressure, i.e. , set the water flow to the desired level, and then shut off the water flow. The valve has been working flawlessly for over six months with no issues. Because my well water has a high iron content, I purchased multiple valves because they are so inexpensive. I expected the high mineral content to eventually clog the valve, so I ordered two spares just in case!

I tried it on a 5 gallon tank and it worked perfectly. Unreliable to the point of being dangerous. I used it to keep the water level constant in a 5 gallon bucket hydroponic setup. The refilling sometimes stops just above the top of the valve, and other times it goes all the way up to the top of the valve. 4 in. above the ground When you lower the water level below that level, it may either not refill at all or continue to overfill completely. br>br>If you're looking for a valve that will keep a constant fluid level, look elsewhere; it won't work.
I use it to keep the level in my swimming pool constant because it works well and is inexpensive. For the past two years, it has performed flawlessly.
There were no instructions included with the package. I had to wing it when it came to adjusting the water level.
Good luck to you.
It's not going to work! Water continues to seep through the cracks in the walls.
