As part of a custom installation in my car, I bought this vacuum switch to regulate a power brake booster vacuum pump. As far as switches of this type go, there are not too many options available A surprisingly poor result It would be great if it did what I wanted it to. The answer is yes in the end. Bench testing it with a vacuum pump and gauge let me set the vacuum to about 22 inches of Hg. There is an outer band of dead energy of three The switch is activated at 18-inch height, which means it opens at 4 inHG The vacuum pump has an opening of 19 inches of head and closes at about 22 inches of head, which is exactly what I needed to keep the vacuum booster at its optimal level. It would have been a five-star product if the story ended there. However, because the switch chatters constantly at 22inHG, it causes the relay that it's driving (and therefore the pump) to cycle on and off rapidly several times before settling into a static state. It is. As a result, this isn't a good thing for the switch, the relay, or the motor in terms of wear and durability. The seller has been responsive so far, and I am waiting to hear from him as to whether my request will be granted. It has been told to me that they will investigate this issue to find out whether it is expected behavior for the switch (which would be quite shocking if it was). According to them, if it is, they will offer to refund it, and if it isn't, they will send a new one. The issue has been resolved, and I will update the review when it has been * NOTE *UPDATE I was sent a new switch from the seller after the seller agreed that the switch shouldn't be bouncing. Everything is working as expected now, and the switch is up and running. Thanks a lot!.
My old vacuum switch never worked properly on my Chevy El Camino power brake vacuum pump. I was using this vacuum switch to regulate the pump. Whenever I braked, the vacuum would reduce to too low a level (13 inches of mercury). As I adjusted the vacuum to 18 inhg, I no longer had to worry about moisture With this one, the height is 25 inches. All is well now with the brakes. I am disappointed to find that many companies often sell vacuum pump kits for cars without this switch instead of the unreliable non-adjustable switch.
I was able to find this vacuum switch only to operate the vacuum pump on my brake booster. With a range of several inches on the on-board display You have turned off the Currently, I have it set around 23" in height. It is worth noting that another vacuum switch sold on Amazon has no range and has no adjustment capability It is real.
As seen in all kits, this is how the switch works. Going to the source allows you to save quite a bit of money. Newark, where I lived, is where mine came from.
The second one will definitely be bought when the need arises.
