Is there a way to use this to determine where a bend in a wheel is when running a vehicle on a lift in gear?

Although it is possible, I used it to check for a bent gear, you will need to do it in a place where it is dark because the strobe light is not very bright.

The old style with actual bulbs works just as well as this one

A unit such as this will be used for collecting data about running speeds of industrial fans for vibration analysis. The reflective tape and laser tach are much slower than reflective tape alone. I like how easy it is to use and how well it works. In addition, it comes with a good case to protect it.
