Questions & Answers

Do you have a pole extension you can lock into position so you can lift cable ?

Locking them in place is not really possible. The cables tighten enough that you can lift a smaller conductor cable with the help of them. When you disassemble the telescopic sections, it has more of a purpose for pulling cable to you.

When the device is fully collapsed, how long is it? The only thing I see in the specs is that it's a It is 3 inches in diameter. How far has it collapsed? Is it truly over 5 feet tall?

Yes, the broom handle collapses to five feet when fully collapsed and extends to 18 feet.

Selected User Reviews For LABOR SAVING DEVICES 82-118 / GR18 Grabbit 18' Telescoping Pole w/Z-tip w/Light

I'm very disappointed with the quality of Although I will give it a 3-star rating since it's OK, I've used cheaper poles for years, and after having one of them forgotten in an attic, I stupidly got the classic "Grabbit
3/5

". My first experience with this pole is my first LSD product, but I am disappointed in this one. I've bought LSD products for almost two decades now and I like them. Keeping with the good, fiberglass is a good material. Alright, this is all I have good to say, now for the negatives. As an aside, I dislike that it has a removable rubber cap to keep the pole from sliding out. Others have been done better in this regard. In addition, the pole slides easily and just takes off by itself if even a slight downward angle is applied to it. In the best of circumstances, this can be advantageous, but it can also be frustrating when it slides out of its bracket and you are not expecting it to, and this happens quite often, so I will soon replace this pole and have a spare on hand. The last thing, and I didn't think about it until now, is that I do not to mention this lastly, and this was also commented on in other reviews, the base does not appear to be well secured. There is even a warning note included with the pole to be careful when using it. The tool in the picture is a journeyman tool, not some delicate, sophisticated device. It would not be a good idea for me to buy a drill if it included a warning "Do Not Drop From An Elevation Over 3 Feet. ". Even though I tried being careful, the pole only slipped back enough for the boot to come right off the back of the pole after the second time I used it. It was lucky that I was able to find the boot among the insane amount of obscurity Devices that are wasted in the lab. I will never buy this pole again, but like the company and will continue to purchase other products from them in the future.

A tool for the job that suits its purpose
5/5

A cable was pulled with the help of this device in a crawl space in my basement. It wasn't obvious to me at the time, but this tool is what made it possible for me to grab the cable as close as I could My crawling did not allow for me to reach the cable beyond about 20 feet, there wasn't enough room for me to get there. After stretching this device fully and extending my arms, I was able to grab the cable and carry it back to my location on my first try. Thank you for The pros are Telescoping capability extends the telescoping length from 6 to 18 feet in seconds. There is a good grip on the cables thanks to the hooks included. The following cons There is a sharp edge on the z hook that you can use to catch the cable or pull it, but if not careful, you can damage the cable as well. Tube seems heavy duty cardboard I expected fiberglass for the price.

The purchase price was well worth it
5/5

am a cable company employee, so this product truly paid for itself the first time I used it and did not have to crawl under a It may turn off some by its high cost, but it is well worth it in the end. The hook it provided was not used - I just used a J-hook instead A hook and black tape are added to the tie straps. I love how well it works!.

Cable running on your own is a breeze with this tool
5/5

Even though it seems pricey, if you do a great deal of cabling you will see a substantial return on your investment. It will be a lot easier for you to reach far distances. The construction is very sturdy and the use is very easy.

The tool is great
5/5

Thank you for creating it! It can save you a lot of time. This tool is great for shortcuts. I was not fond of fishing wires from one point to another, but with this tool I can do that much.

I don't know
3/5

I don't think that fish sticks have any advantage over them. A collapsed body would need to be too long to be able to get above a The expansion is difficult to perform, and when expanded, does not lock.
