Carson 5X MiniBrite LED Lighted Slide-Out Aspheric Magnifier with Protective Sleeve

I have been ordering these small magnifiers for years because they are great and the customer service is excellent. It's a group that everybody enjoys. The light is not necessary - it works on its own It is easy to keep the light out if you slide the cover back a little less than full retract. This LED pen light is larger than most pen lights and is still a convenient size for purses or pockets. Similar products often suffer scratches that render the magnifying lens useless after a short time. This product has a sliding cover that provides a good shield for the magnifying lens. Slide the cover open and the light will turn on automatically. Slide the cover back and the light will turn off. I like how the power button is placed so you don't need to hold your finger on the power button while An illuminated restaurant can get a decent amount of light from this fixture. There is a serious distortion in the edges of the picture due to the magnifying lens' curved shape. As such, the main focus of the image is a little too intense Small focus spot that allows you to read only about a word at a time. This makes it difficult to read a menu, which is most common use for the product. I am not sure I would recommend it for reading menus or books, but I do not expect it to work well.
