Borecam with a lot of bang for your buck
5/5

This borecam has good video quality (for a borecam), a bright enough screen to see outside in the sun, long battery life, and a removable card for easy video transfers. It's also very simple to use. Both the front- and back-end The front-facing and side-facing cameras are well-lit and produce high-quality video. br>br>I only have two complaints, both of which are minor. One is that there isn't an accessory mirror pack that fits the probe on this camera. However, thanks to the side-facing camera's wide field of view, I was able to scope the valves in one of my car's cylinders, this isn't such a big deal. If I had bent the probe slightly before inserting it, I could have gotten more of the cylinder head in. In short, the lack of mirror attachments is partially compensated for by the side-facing camera. br>br>The second issue is that you can't switch between the front- and back-facing cameras. While recording, use both front-facing and side-facing cameras. That's not a big deal either, because all you have to do is pause the recording, press a button, and resume it. You don't need to remove the probe from the object you're inspecting. So it's more nit-picking than anything else. It's more about snitching on my part than anything else. What matters is that you can get a borecam with video quality that would have cost a grand a few years ago for less than a hundred dollars. I'm overjoyed because I think I'll be able to get more of these as gifts for my gearhead friends. A new borescope is the epitome of "I care. " I've included a video. br>br> I'm hoping Amazon doesn't go overboard with their advertising. It should be compressed. Richard br>br>.

At unusable distances (and only at very specific distances), usable images appear
3/5

So, when I first got it, I showed it to my wife, and the picture quality was terrible, extremely grainy. That's to be expected, given that an endoscope is designed to examine objects at close range. What I didn't expect was that when I tried to use it to figure out why this particular electrical connector wasn't pulling off (rather than just yanking on it), it didn't work. Within a 1 inch range, it couldn't focus. The images show the distance between the scope and the connector, as well as the image that was displayed. The image would, of course, deteriorate as it got closer. [This was the side camera, by the way]br>br>Do you think most people will use this for a vehicle? When you're squeezing into these tight spaces, you'd think you'd want to see things within/at an inch of the camera, right? So that rules this out for any use I might have in mind. br>br>In addition, the display refused to record any images or video. It appears to be a common enough issue that additional troubleshooting instructions have been included. I went through all of their troubleshooting steps and added a few more of my own, all of which were fairly basic. There was no card read error, I formatted the card several times on the device, connected it to my computer, and had no problems formatting it again from the computer on top of the multiple times I formatted it on the device; I contacted customer support, and they asked me some basic troubleshooting questions. They didn't go above and beyond in any way; it was just basic customer service. There was nothing to rave about or complain about. I just returned it after a few days of back and forth, with them telling me this isn't the norm and no real solutions provided. I'm not a fan of giving one star, but there's no reason for me to give it any more.

Most mechanics have tools that are seven times less expensive than snap-on tools
5/5

To begin, allow me to state the following: The item is fantastic- I'm a full-time mechanic who works four days a week. I was using a snap-on for 5 cars per day. This was 770$ on camera, and then one of my coworkers bought it - The best part about this endoscope is the camera on the side, which is something that snap-on endoscopes lack. br>The best part about it - It costs seven times less than snap-on tools. AWESOME PRODUCT.

For HVAC technicians, this isn't a good situation
3/5

This camera is not suitable for use in the HVAC system. I bought it to inspect heat exchangers. The image is of poor quality. It won't focus on close-up objects, which is a problem in the enclosed space of a heat exchanger, where you need to look for minute details. I was having issues connecting to the camera after one day of use as well. It would say camera not found, and I'd have to unplug and reconnect the camera. I'm going to return this item and try something else instead.

This is a must-have item for you
5/5

Every family should have this device because no one knows when that unforeseen event will occur in their lives, and without it, dealing with the problem will be impossible. br>I used this endoscope to troubleshoot a sump pump problem in my basement, where the pump would not start pumping water at all. To do so, I had to submerge the camera in water to determine the source of the problem. The backlight on the camera's end came in handy at this point. Because the cable is quite rigid, it does not bend when in use. br>Because the camera has an IP67 waterproof rating, it was no problem to submerge it in water. I believe the camera will be fine in about one meter of water for a few minutes. br>I like how the endoscope saves captured data to the internal SD card. br>My endoscope came with a 16GB SD card, but the capacity can be increased to 32GB. The picture quality is excellent. So, without a flashlight, how do you troubleshoot? It's always necessary to have some sort of backlight. And this isn't a problem because the endoscope has this capability. Only the side button must be pressed. br>The structure of the unit is excellent. The menu navigation and browsing of saved photos and clips are both very simple. On a sunny day, a bright enough screen allows for clear viewing of objects outside. Switching between video and picture modes is incredibly quick and simple. br>br>With the help of this endoscope, I was able to quickly resolve the problem. I've only had this device for a few days, but it's already proven to be extremely useful and time-saving, and I've even used it to repair my computer. Finally, I'd like to point out that the customer service for this camera is exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure that customers are completely satisfied. br>I was given the chance to re-write my thesis. I put this endoscope to the test, and now I'm convinced that yes, you should always have this camera on you. This is a tool that I will use in the future.
