With the clips open to maximum, there is a distance of 3/8 of an inch between them
Since it is a very thin gauge wire, I anticipate it to be 18 Gauge, so I won't be putting a lot of amps on this. I wouldn't expect to put more than 3 Amps on it The 5 amps I purchased came with my meter, and the alligator clips helped me when I clipped the cables to the transformers Wires in the back for probing
Sparky's point of view is exactly what I believe. As stated in the TL-DR A "16 lead" set is a light gauge or light duty set used for intermittent voltage, current, resistance measurements. The leads can withstand 5 amps and 600 volts for quick measurements, but constant current of a few amps would melt them. You'll need a wire gauge chart to find out what size wire you need for plating. You can find one on the web that can tell you the wire gauge for plating based on the current and voltage you need.
I think the other numbers refer to the ends of the cables, as they are 3 feet long

We received leads ahead of schedule today. I was disappointed to see that they were wires of a very light gauge, only 18 AWG and did not contain a silicone jacket, just regular hook up wire. This led me to suspect the overall quality, so I investigated There is no way to inspect the connections since the banana jacks are fused to the wire. In the area of the alligator clips, the wires are completely encased in jackets, and I had expected to find them just crimped in place. Unfortunately, they were badly soldered. The black lead contains some loose strands that are not soldered, so even with the 18 gauge wire seated, it is not even completely snug. Having said that, I will always keep them in mind, knowing that there are limitations to them.
As a result of reading positive reviews, I bought two sets. It would have been better to listen to the others who described the "small connectors". There is no size that is small enough. There is no doubt that these are knockoffs of the original. My expectation was that at least 16 gauge wire would have banana plugs molded into the connectors as well as decent-sized The price is probably more like $5 per piece than $8 per piece. The cost for each is 70 dollars. It was only positive that they were 36 inches long as stated, and that they arrived before the estimated delivery date. After the first month, there will be a waiting period.
The machines are better than nothing, however, the money spent on them should have bought better equipment. As a consequence, it was the wire, not the terminals, that led to the problem. The wire is thin and stiff, and you will not be able to keep the leads attached to the meter when The leads I would get from a better provider would easily be worth more to me.
Much better than the Agilents I had. The Agilent power supply I have is made up of 3 channels, so I decided to get some extra leads for it. My desire for alligator clips came from the fact that they are both versatile and are more likely to fit the jacks on the front of my power supply than the glue in the Agilent ones. Most of the sunglasses fit fine, but a few of them didn't - That is quite depressing for a large company like Agilent)
There is a soft latex-like insulation, and the plugs fit snugly with no issues. Since they are so cheap, I may order a few more sets since I'm very happy with them. Additionally, these also seem to be pictures the customer has uploaded- as others have pointed out The picture Amazon supplies is not the one Amazon provides. I find it funny that the picture Amazon provides looks the same as mine from Agilent).
It seems so foolish that someone would do something like this In some situations, however, this is an absolute necessity, such as when you need a third hand or have to test lots of circuits at once. The rubber insulation is very good, and the banana plugs can be easily plugged into a bench power supply or a digital My friends and I have used standard alligator clip test leads from Radio Shack for years, but when I saw these, I knew I would be doing myself a favor by taking them home with me. The actual problem is that I keep them in my regular bag so I always have them with me (at work, at school, or at home). It is unlikely that many of the things you purchase will make it into your daily I can't help it - here is one! The set is an excellent product at a superb price! No hobbyist or troubleshooter should be without it!.
I'd say it's pretty good in general. I like the fact that the wire is not too thin, and the construction appears to be solid. Despite the fact that the wires are stiff, my only complaint is that it looks good. For test leads, this is not nearly flexible enough. My toolbox won't close until I loosely coil them up to put them in it. They won't lay flat, so I can't close it.
When I contemplated buying these versus purchasing the Klein set, I knew that I would be getting the Alligator Clips included with the leads, but not found in the leads that came The products are ok and probably will last a long time, but they do not measure up to Klein's products in terms of quality. It is possible that I will end up purchasing a set of Klein's anyway, due to the fact that I plan to buy a backup When my last meter failed and the cheap back up I had also failed, I was totally lost. I will buy another cheap backup in case something happens to the first one. The battery I had in my pocket had no way of knowing whether or not it It is a decent set of test leads, I probably would have given them another star had I not used the Klein leads.
As a result, I can say that this cable felt more durable than the one that came packaged with the There is a banana end soldered to the wire, whereas the stock cable consisted of a screw-on end There seemed to be a banana end in pressure fit that is always prone to loosening. Additionally, the wire gauge used for this cable was slightly thicker. I am very pleased with the cable.
